Bought these for summer:

They’re too small, or they pinch, or is this just how sandals are? I’ve never had a comfortable pair of sandals. I’m beginning to suspect there’s no way they can be comfy cos a strap will always rub or pinch. Maybe I’m doomed to wearing trainers.

If you get ones with a buckle that are adjustable you'll be more comfortable

Just ordered this dress, as I have a feeling it'll be a 'maxidress' summer (ie, constantly hovering around 20C) and my beloved M&S kids' long dress I think may finally fall to pieces this year. While this isn't as ridiculously floor-scraping as some, I'm sure I'll have to get it shortened by a few inches. And maybe straps taken up a bit too.

With those spaghetti strap dresses, I cut the straps and tie them to shorten them.

got a customs charge for £12 today on an second hand £21 top from the states.

jeez, that's incredible, imagine the top being more expensive, import charges would kill it.
Curiously, how long did it take for you to get the letter from customs telling you about the charges?

I thought I was being clever ordering some nice trainers from Belgium on the cheap🤦‍♂️

it was added on automatically. I had to pay when collecting it from the sorting office.

I did question it due to the low value of the item, it being a 2nd hand top, but was informed by lady at sorting office it is up to the sender to label the item correctly which in my case wasn't done, or so they said

You could get away with it prior to January, but everything has to be bang on with the paperwork now🤷‍♂️ It won’t be a huge amount, so it’s not the end of the world.

I just want my bloody trainers.

can you not get them in the EU or here somewhere, I bet you can?

Also bought a pair of these the other day - flat foot type shoes with a very thin sole. £130, but if you sign up the usual 'give us your e-mail' you get 10% off. They're ugly as sin but bloody comfortable. I only tried them properly today and they're lovely - and my feet feel much cooler* than normal shoes.

nope, they’re a bit too tight for socks. Still not sure about socks n sandals mind. they can look awful
Loads of the “young uns” will wear branded socks with those type of sandals.

They aren’t really meant for casual use though. They’re rubber... it’s just begging for blisters. They are meant for gym use in the shower room.

Yeah, sliders are for shuffling between the pool and the bar or similar, not for any kind of sustained wear.

Sandals in general are a bit more difficult to fit to your feet than shoes - there's less leeway in sizing because there's no socks, so unless they fit just right they're likely to rub IME. But if you get a pair that fits right you're golden
