Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

I am wary but shouldn't be. I got bitten when I lived in Croydon. The cobbler at West Croydon Station had a row with a customer and done him, got out of his little shop in front of everyone and went garretty. He got remanded then away and me, I had four pairs of shoes in with him. All gone. They threw away every pair of shoes that were not pre paid.
I just had to swallow. It was hard though. I look at station cobblers up and down now.

I am being pushed to try a self described shoe maker, Konstantino. In Tooting. I'm vaguely remembering being in his shop before asking inane stoned questions. He does bespoke!

Well tomorrow he gets my Barkers and my dealer boots. Soles and heels and all in a rubber sole. I have had it with leather soles. I may get him to renew linings.

I will try and get pictures of his shop and him and that.

I'm happy to be spending a few quid on properly rehabilitating shoes that I threw in the cupboard of doom when depressed and a bit helpless.
I have given them a good clean and polish so he dont slag me. The Barker sole on one is beyond the cork. X
I remembered more about Augustino the Shoemaker and avoided it. Went to Balham Station Cobbler instead.

New soles, heels, half linings and heel protectors for the Barkers. New heels and soles for the dealer boots.
£110 all together.

I ordered some red high top Kickers as both my pairs of winter boots are so worn out they're not very comfortable any more. They came and are lovely but I can't imagine ever finding the ankles comfortable. I'm used to shoes that don't come anywhere near the ankle or boots that cover it completely, not short boots that just jab into it half way.

Is it just me?

I've really struggled to find anything I like. I miss the Natural Shoe Store! And Fly are all wedgey moulded soles now :(

Me too - it's necessary to be able to feel how soft and heavy the wool is before buying. I like the orange and purple jumpers from Uniqlo - might have a wander to the branch in town to fondle them.

Bought three pairs of 501s the other week, along with loads of socks (black) and undies (in lurid colours) from the M & S outlet shop. The colours are probably why the stock ended up there, but they're undies so who cares what colour they are.

I've bought more clothes in the last couple of months than I have in years.
I love Uniqlo jumpers and cardigans (both crew neck). I have a few in different colours.and wools.

I'm not wild about that height of boot - but at least Kickers are fairly soft, aren't they? (not like a pair of DMs of that length the I have that are excruciating) Anything you can do with socks?

Have you seen at Shirl 's local Ruby Shoesday ? They have some brands there which might interest you.
Good call.

The Kickers are not sharp edged but they're solid. They would probably give after a while but I can't imagine getting to that stage. Anyway, I've just read recent online reviews and everyone says they suddenly became rubbish a few years ago and now fall apart at the drop of a hat.

Bought these today after going to the cobblers in Balham. View attachment 196911
I dont often wear brown shoes. This is me trying to loosen up a bit..
I took them back today as they had pre existing damage to the elastic gusset.. Had a lively discussion with the manager at TK Max in Balham about goods being fit for the purpose if being sold etc etc.
Am going to keep the money and save more.

Nope, I'm struggling to find winter boots too.

Aurora Longline Underwire Bra

All For You Printed Blouse

Georgia Jumpsuit

see the bra will work with both, multi-tasking is wise shopping

:hmm:

This from Joe Brown's sale - had my eye on it. Didn't realise it has nice stitching around the collar until it arrived, it's really nice. It's something I like about JB stuff that it often has little details I didn't see from buying it online, so you get a pleasant surprise when it's delivered.

Finally found some red desert boots that fit. Hopeful these will be comfy to walk in and last a good few years. Spanish (Jungla).

I've been wanting red desert boots since I used to commute to Hammersmith by motorbike about 5 years ago. I always used to pass a woman on a scooter around Clapham who had some just like this, and coveted them.

seemed like the most logical place to post this q: anyone do depop? (specifically sales) it's new to me but seems like it might be replacing ebay in terms of online second-hand?

kid2 has an idea that she can do a bag for charity and a bag for selling. it's a little while since i sold on ebay but as a buyer prices seem to be tanking. any advantage to being on depop? i have a whole load of stuff that needs shifting and happy to do kid2's stuff alongside, just wondering whether the 1/3 selling price reaches your pocket after fees maxim applies equally to depop, i don't know their pricing structure re sales.

Been looking vaguely for ages for some flat ankle boots but been having real trouble finding what I wanted - genuinely flat, coloured or patterned, not Chelsea boots.... lo and behold I finally stumble across these. And what's more when I get them to the counter there's an extra £20 off sale price  they're a darker red than they look in this photo. Have ordered some shoe wax to treat them with before wearing
