Having put off buying some flat boots as they were nice-to-have and non-essential and have been trying to save money while other half was searching for contract (he's been offered something now), got these on La Redoute sale. Have arrived and they fit. Which is good as there have been a few times I've felt the lack of smart flat shoes the last couple of months.

I think being cooped up for the past few weeks and the onset of Spring got to me today. Went shopping with friends and bought some pieces in the sale. Am chuffed...I've not bought new clothes in a long time.

Ordered a couple of ASOS black dresses including the one above. They didn't fit (they are flatteringly sized because I am not a 14) but the quality is very good for the price. I might order some more in the future.

I never, ever buy clothes but I've been on a right spree mentality since Christmas. Got a few new pairs of jeans, two new pairs of boots (that rub my little toes raw but look ace), a few new tops. I want a new spring/autumn jacket, so that's my main looker-outer-for atm. Bought a shed-load of nail polish too and I'm having a nice new colour every week

There's a lot of polyester and its evil relatives around at the mo. It' like the 70s again, but not in a good way

I got a leopard cardi off eBay in the same colour as my cherry red DMs, and an antistatic underskirt from M&S so I can wear some of those synthetic fabrics without bursting into flames.

I've been buying, or at least ordering, reduced party dresses from La Redoute as I have a gig coming up I want something classy but not too OTT for. Their stock control system is shit so 1 of 4 was cancelled and 1 delayed but have had these 2:

Velour Printed Kimono Dress The fabric is glitteringly lovely and I'm a bit reluctant to send this back but it really isn't flattering on me. Would be better on someone with big top half and small bottom half I think.
V-Neck Velour Dress Very nice LBD but too small.
