Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Went shopping at the thrift stores last week. I bought some sweaters at a dollar sale. These aren't the actual pictures, but they look quite a lot like these.

Like the "middle-aged man" thread, I sometimes wonder if I'm not due for a makeover. In some ways, I still dress like I did in the 80's as an art school student. Tend to wear a lot of black, vintage, and punky stuff.

I figure at a buck each, I can drop anything I don't like back in a charity shop bin.

I ordered some stuff from Eshakti ages ago and who knows when it's going to turn up  It's being sent from India and I live in Australia. According to online tracking it's gone to a Germany and England and still nowhere near Australia. Seems a bit... unnecessary

Here's what I ordered!

They finally turned up! Dotty dress is good, plain blue dress needs a belt to hide the cheap elastic at the waist area, red dress I dunno about. Colour isn't what I thought it would be and there is a lot of excess fabric around the shoulder area (this isn't an uncommon problem with me to be honest) On the other hand proper darts and princess seams are good on a larger best. Unsure if I would order from them again.

Fantastic! We go on holiday to Whitby, where most of it emanates from. I love the old pieces, but they are very expensive here now.

Thanks! I didn't realize it came from there. You can see it in junk shops with some regularity here. Its usually quite reasonable. If you see it in an antique store, it can be a be spendy.

Nice.....:):)
Really like the DMs:D

I counted my lipsticks and found that I had 28. 3 were the Rimmel Coffee Shimmer I've been wearing since I was 15, and the rest were my attempts at replacing it with something the same kind of colour but less shimmery and more grown up.
I have now found my new perfect lipsticks in Clinique's Pop Beach and Pop Clove, which are similarly browny-pink but matte and long-lasting. I need to stockpile them :hmm:

I just binned some heather shimmer - it looks like it belongs in Dirty Dancing. :D Black Cherry was in my brief goth era.
[emoji1] I've only just started wearing lipstick again and it's a very light, barely there colour. I really want to wear dramatic reds but I've got such thin lips. Not sure how I got away with black cherry, actually I probably didn't!

Coffee shimmer :D I had a really cheap coffee lipstick by Constance Carroll when I was 15. I have NEVER found a better one - and I now own about 10 that are just as cheap but just not quite right. I thought I was alone in my quest!

Ooh, I went through a regrettable peach shimmer phase in about 1988.

These days I'm all about MAC ruby woo. A totally matte, blue-toned red that apparently suits just about everyone. I wear it with everything because it's blue-toned so can even go with pinks.

:D Poot
Rimmel (I think) launched another short-lived brand in the late 80s that did a shade called Rocky Road, which I loved but which was very melty. I wrote and complained to them, and they sent me a box of 12, which kept me going for a while. :D I know that Constance Carroll one, too.

I like an orangey red so it's Mac's Lady Danger for me. I have ridiculously dry lips though so matte lipstick isn't great. Any wonder lip balm recommendations?

Some of the Chubby Sticks are more lip balm and some (Intense) are more lipstick, but still balmy. There's an Intense one called Heftiest Hibiscus which is quite orangey red. I like Mightiest Maraschino.
