Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Oh and I have joined the ranks of tartan betrousered urbs

They're unlined wool though, and a bit itchy. D'you think I could get them lined?

Oh yes, and I bought something similar to this to keep the chill out while tramping the hills:

but got sent a kids waterproof onesie instead. :D

They've been very quick about sorting it out though so I shan't name the company.

I think one issue is that British shoes in traditional styles are very on trend atm, so the prices on ebay have risen somewhat recently. I am keeping an eye out for you on my rounds though voley, always happy to enable someone else's marcosism.

i quite often wear a vest with some sort of sheer voluminous wafty thing over the top of it. H&M have some good ones. Means you're covering all the bits without looking like you're covered iyswim.
I'll have a look, ta, I have a habit of heading for the kids section every time I go in H&M

Are they ok to cycle in? In 10 years I've never had fleecy lined lycra, but I'm feeling the cold more now  I'll have a search online, ta :)
I don't know yet, I'll tell you tomorrow. They better be, being made for cycling :D They're these fwiw, not cheap even on a lucky blag. Cycling and music = rabbit-hole spending :(

On a completely different note, holiday/party season is coming up. I have fuck all to wear, I'm really not in a good place with clothes atm. But I do have a nice black pencil skirt... what sort of top could I wear with it?
I really like pencil skirts with a t shirt, in a smart/casual juxtaposition. The minute I put on a shirt or blouse with one I feel like I'm going to work in the city.

What you need is some slip-material leggings
I thought that! :D

Grappling leggings ("spats") come in all kinds of awesome designs, just in case anyone would like some ridiculous leggings. They'd be great for cycling/running etc. when it's warm enough to not need thermals

Heh, I was thinking about overheating mostly, I'm also quite a sweaty cyclist

I'll have a faff in the shops, or just dress the girl up so nicely no-one looks at me :D

Another sweaty cyclist here. If you're not sweating, you aren't doing it right!
I wear padded shorts, but no lycra tops cos of, well, self-consciousness. I just have a shower when I get to work and cycle home in a dried but smelly t-shirt.

Not true, some people just aren't sweaty. My mate is a keen road cyclist and just doesn't sweat despite long distances. He's built for it tbf - thin as a rake, the cunt  for me it's true though!
Padded shorts!

*snigger*
:D I know. I used to scoff, but I have since fanjoed myself enough times to relent. Or done some serious miles one day then got on and winced the next. Pad my bum (eating more cake just doesn't work, I've tried :()!

I'm the Goldilocks of coats atm. I have a camel coat from tesco that is a little small, particularly on the arms. I also have a blue ASOS duffel from ebay that's too big. Ffs. I can get the blue duffel in the right size but for 20-30 quid more from a different seller but I don't think I can send the other back.

I also don't know whether to keep the camel one. I really like it and would fit fine if I lost a bit of weight but I need it now. Hmph
dont keep it, get one that fits NOW :) otherwise evenif you were to lose the weight it won't come off over night and by then you might like a differnt loo anyway :)

You'll never beat me on the shoe/boot front, Voley   :hmm:
imelda Marcos would have difficulty beating you :p

I know I should return it, I'll check if I've missed the return date. If so, I'll stick it on eBay I guess. :)

Still take it to the shop even if you're past the days, I've often found the big stores are happy to return stuff :) irrelevant of when it was bought

pssst, you need to try a merino 'base layer' t shirt. It won't smell on the way home, plus you get less sweaty in the first place. I thought it was hokum, but I bought a Vulpine (I know I know ) merino t shirt in a sale and it's bloody brilliant. The warm/cool thing is true!

Last night I googled 'merino underwear' wondering if it existed because I was thinking that it should, and lo and behold :D I want all the knickers now

Signed, consumer.

That was the thinking behind me buying that top a couple of pages back. I think they say merino wool is the best for shifting the sweat away from you. Its slightly academic mind as something tells me the toddlers onesie they sent won't quite have this covered tbh.
