 It's so wrong it almost feels right.

If you buy then wear that and people laugh at you in the street it will be your own fault! You have been warned! Sorry but I would be trying not to laugh :D

Do you still overstuff them and wear them out? :D
I'm bored with mine now, they just won't wear out.
Yes I do. I can't wear the outside out, but I trash the innards. 2 x inhalers, 2 x iPhones and a lot of keys do for them every time.

The inside of one of mine is very scruffy and stained but the other one is in good condition. They're not my favourite bags but they are very useful and always look good on the outside at least.

I live in China. People laugh at me in the street whatever I do. :(

(((Yu_Gi))) But they would be justified if you were wearing that jumper!! Sorry! Is it not just they are un used to 'foriegners'? Still seems a bit rude to laugh though.

my brother always said he got laughed at too- height, colouring, build etc I think. Plus what we do to their language...!

I need a new work bag as the handle on this one is splitting. Needs to take a laptop, heels, file, purse, pen clip, chargers, keys, wallet, ipad, iphone, makeup, random stuff that always seems to appear in the bottom of it and an overnight kit if necessary, while looking faintly handbag-y/ smart laptop bag-y. I can't find one ANYWHERE (well, I found one but it was stupid expensive- I'm happy to spend a fair bit as I use it everyday etc, but Furla, Michael Kors, DKNY prices are, IMHO, quite high enough. £2k for a bag??!!!! Even if you had that would you spend it?)

My two huge bags were both made for me with leather that I already had. I had another made too but my son borrowed it when he went to uni about 5 years ago and it never came back :hmm:
The latest one was made by someone here in town. She only charged me £40 for making it and I'd been given the hide by a friend. I bought the hide for the first one and it cost around £50. It might be worth you looking around for someone who makes leather goods and designing your own.

Ooooh, that's a great idea

Ha! It's OK, I wasn't being seriously sad about them laughing. :) I am totally used to it. They are just surprised.

Hey Yu, is it a true that generally cleavage is a no no in China? I would hate to think how much laughing at me they would do

Yeah cleavage is a huge no-no really. They wouldn't laugh though, they'd be too incensed. :D I only once displayed my (minor) cleavage in China and the level of hostility was quite shocking. Even at the pool in the summer a bikini is fairly risque. I usually wear a t-shirt and shorts over mine. Women's stomachs aren't ever exposed either, and when I lived in rural Korea shoulders were out too. Here shoulders without cleavage is OK, but cleavage without shoulders would still be bad.

You can get special rectangle bandy things to go over your bra, like this.

If you ever come to China I will assist you in the concealment of your cleavage.

I will be honest and say I would be slightly disappointed if I met you and concealment was on the agenda  Anyway, I should look into one of those kinds of things to solve my button up shirt issues.

Got a couple of things from collectif on the sale at the end of the year, and then decided I won't buy anything in 2013.

I keep a record of how much I spend on everything (yep, closet accountant, I actually enjoy doing this on a spreadsheet and have been doing it for a few years now). Anyway I spent too much on clothes last year, I have clothes in my wardrobe I have never worn so it's time to take a break. No new clothes in 2013! Going on a 2 week holiday in Brazil, so what I save on clothes will cover for it.

Anyway, these will be the last items I purchased for at least a year!
these trousers (no longer available in that pattern it seems, only in grey)

Hilda Skirt

And this, a bargain @ £7.50

They have all arrived and fit nicely :) (well, I had to shorten the trousers, that's when my trusted sewing machine came in handy)

Where do you get those lace things from? I have something similar from hanky panky but the one above looks better.
