The only trouble is that I also need one in the next cup size up or it'll only be wearable 2 weeks out of 4.

if anyone is interested, there's a sale on today only at Coast... it's for an extra 10% off their already discounted stuff.. there's a dress on there which is already discounted from £95 to £25... so you'd be getting a £90 dress for £22.50 which seems pretty good to me (only left in a size 18 though).

I think I've only ever bought one thing from there for a wedding but it was lovely.

I have recently discovered New Look. I know it's been around for years but couldn't be bothered looking.
Anyway, today I bought a black lace top reduced to £7 and a black and white striped l/s top for £6

Also bought a leopard print dressing gown from M&S  I went to TKMaxx, Top Shop, New Look and local lingerie shop first but M&S had the best one. I only need it for the day on Tuesday when I go in hospital for a small op. I'm going to leave the tickets on and if it's doesn't look cool it's going back on Wednesday.

I love New Look, although it does make me think of poor children with bleeding fingers and bad eyes in factories abroad. They claim to be doing things more ethically nowadays though.
At least you'll look fabulous in hospital

Ah, yes, I meant to say about that. @ Shirl and @Manter

Spending more at more expensive high street shops is no guarantee of better working conditions. Primark got a lot of attention from campaigners because they were getting a lot of attention anyway.

This might be useful although a quick browse makes the site look a little contradictory.

and an explanation of the grades.

That is interesting isn't it.
I'll be lecturing the clients at work today :D

Why can't all people be ethical and it wouldn't be such a nightmare?!?!

E2a- most of the brands I buy from aren't on their list- but also not sure why freedom of association suddenly pops up in the 4 rating. Doesn't appear anywhere else, and while it may be a campaigner/ indicator of better working conditions, not directly linked to living wage. And they mention (for the zeros) no info on website- but there is info in the annual report for at least one- a quick google found it. Sorry to be grumpy, but this seems a bit half baked to me.... Well intentioned- and valuable/important, but just very well executed

the only way that happens is when things are regulated and those regulations are backed up by suitably funded and thorough policing structures.

I've just been reading Bad Pharma by Ben Goldacre. Interesting and scary reading. Highly recommended. the australian govt were going to bring in some regs then decided they wouldn't and just have a vol code. The pharmas were critical of this as they, correctly, said no one will stick to voluntary codes. Unilateral sticking to them would be a disadvantage in a competitive market.

Yeah, I work in pharma- an odd industry, never seen so many well intentioned/ fundamentally decent people cause so much mayhem! There is some interesting EU legislation in the pipeline that I may post about on a different thread.

I am going to try on all my clothes today and decide what to bin and what to buy. Not done that for ages :)

Just bought these as my current snow boots make me sad.

They were made for Marks and Spencer, but never quite made it there, iyswim, so they should be quite good quality.

I've never had their swing trousers, but their other trousers are cut on the small side.

I love them to pieces but their sizing really is all over the place.
