Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Sure this isn't the right place to ask this, but still. Bought the below long cardie to wear round the office when I want to waft and am having a bit of a fat day.

second wear, have managed to catch the chiffon bit at the front in a seat and torn it. The tear is about 2cmlong, uneven and right at the front at about mid thigh. Grrr.

Do I:
- stop buying clothes I need to take care of as I am clearly a malcoordinated halfwit who doesn't deserve nice things
- get it invisible mended which is never really invisible and willbe less so on chiffon
- sew a line of ribbon up the chiffon to cover the hole

Help me, hive mind!

Sorry to not include pics of what I bought but I've recently started looking at clothes on ebay and can't think of anywhere else to ask such trivial questions. "Easy to wear". Wtf does that mean?
not a lot. I think it just means not corsetted/boned/sweaty PVC- ie normal clothes!

I can't find pictures online, but I splashed out on a navy duffel coat from Muji. I can't really afford it (thank you credit card) but I do need a new winter coat.

I also bought some leopard print leggings from Primarni, which I thought might be a bit mutton on me, but I just saw eme, gaijingirl and Ms T whilst wearing them who assured me that was not the case  :D

definitely not mutton... foxy maybe.. ;) and as per usual I shall be a magpie and steal your style and get myself a pair next week if I get to the shops.

so I wore a new top today I got cheapo in a sale from here (but in the shop not online) - it's the same cut as this but a proper burnished leopard print rather than grey animal print:

anyway... I asked gaijinboy this evening if he liked it..

me: "Does this top look nice?"
him: "yeah I think so..."
me: "no seriously, does it look alright?"
him: "well it makes you look like you've got massive tits"
me: "a ringing endorsement then..."

can't see a pic but my first thought is a little strip of lightweight fusible interfacing, posted through the hole sticky side up. line up the edges as neatly as possible and press. if it's still obvious then at least it's stabilised and you can cover it with some kind of trim/applique.

hey shopping thread long time no see. facing up to the fact i only have 1 frock that fits atm i've bought this on ebay. i'd really appreciate some crossed fingers that it fits :)

i'm chuffed i have enough saved to get mine redone before xmas, i have about 3 inches of roots atm :D
Don't mention roots. My hair is a variety of shades of faced red into brown. It's not intentional nor pretty.

Fingers crossed on the dress btw. I like. :)

Thanks Killer B and Mantra for answering my question. There are some very silly and seemingly meaningless descriptions on ebay.

But anyway, I actually bought something. It's a necklace and I would like to show random strangers some photos while I wait for it to arrive. Not sure why, but here it is.

In your shoes, I'd begin with the 2nd option, as it stabilises the damage. Having said that, I'd repair it from the inside by ironing on a patch of the very lightest weight of iron-on fusible interfacing.

After that I'd add the ribbon or other appliques; partly to disguise the repair, and partly in the hope of reinforcing the damage prone area.

thankyou!

I bought a few things at the weekend when a friend had a pop up shop on the top floor of our salon. She was selling nearly 100 items of clothing had she had bought and never worn
I bought a Cos black dress
Cos navy and white striped cotton top
Jigsaw black taffeta party skirt

I had never heard of Cos before but I like the 2 things that came from there.

I've had a REALLY BAD DAY so just spent stupid amount of money online. I have a new bag, a new necklace, 3 pairs of tights (wolford, obv....) and a cocktail ring. Well, they sent me a 10% off voucher, seemed rude not to use it....
