Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Not a new purchase (bought it a while ago but have never worn it) but just tried on a dress I was planning on wearing to a wedding on Saturday. Thank God it fits as I've nothing else suitable and would've had no time to sort out something else. (This is me being organised BTW, actually trying it on before the day:D ).

Beautiful dress! Where's it from?

All the ones I saw in TK Maxx were rubbish and over priced imo. I don't want a 'label' purse, I want something to put my money and cards in
That was over a year ago though I think. I don't really like that shop tbh.
Some branches have fabulous stuff in them, but some...:eek:

Jaeger. The only decent thing they have in stock at the moment... not sure what is going on with them....

Hmmm, tried on a dress in there recently that was possibly the least flattering thing I've ever put on. (May pop and in and see what this one looks like ;))

if you like the black lace thing, also try Hobbs by invitation and Kaliko- they have black lace dresses that are also chic/not slutty. Phase 8 have a lace dress that is a bit horrid IMO

Bought two pairs of black woolly Uniqlo heattech leggings, one of the extra long ribbed pairs, and one with little snowflakes in dark grey. I was going to complain about the price but then I saw they're each £3 more in England.

Also bought this jumper. It is endearingly ugly. I got a third of the price off, cos I buy so much online.

I'm watching a dress on eBay that finishes at 4am. Wtf? It's a UK seller so either insomniac, has small baby or works nights.

I don't use a sniping thingy but I might have to if I don't want to lose it.

I'm off sick so could set my alarm but I'm getting so little sleep at the moment I don't really want to be disturbed if I do drop off. Grrrrr

Gixen is the way to go

Found a pair of pristine black M&S cords in charity shop yesterday - in a 10 short fitting, which seems to be just about perfect on me. Not very exciting, but chuffed anyway. I seem to be really short of trousers (and one pair is starting to wear at the knees) so I seriously need another 2 or 3 pairs for winter. It's my current charity shop challenge, 'cos I can't afford several new pairs; basically scouring any I go past for well fitting/good quality ones, as at least this way I might get decent makes. 90% of everything in charity shops these days seems to be Primark, though.

I bought a classic short black sleeveless dress from a charity shop. It's viscose I think and hangs really well. £6 That's my Christmas going out and party dress sorted. I'm going to wear it with my red glitter shoes. :)

I'll need to wear some kind of cardi though to hide my one fat arm :(

I thought charity shops rejected primarni? Sure I was listening to s'thing on R4 at the Sally Army sorting depot where they said it is basically junk and they sell it for rags....

Maybe some of them do, but not all of them. Or maybe not all of their sorters know which stuff is Primark (as most/a lot of it isn't labelled 'Primark')

These days they would struggle to fill the rails if they didn't include the like of Primark. :( The Sally Army shops were pretty ropey in my time with charity shops, if they haven't pulled their socks up I doubt their sorters are up to much.
It mostly depends on area. Most charity shops get donated items that were bought in the town/area where the shop is situated.

Our trip to Venice this week has made me do something 30 years of muddy festival-going has failed to do:

70% of the city was under water today, so I'll probably need them.

Good choice! I have those in navy and they are really good and sturdy. They are either on my feet or in the boot of my car at any given time.

since reading this, I won't shop at Primark....

I wouldn't buy anything from there either. I'm too mean to buy clothes that don't last for years and anything so cheap can't really be made by well paid workers :(
agree. I now buy less that is better. but also my figure isn't that great and really benefits from some decent tailoring/ material

I just can't face Primark - it's too cheap and too chaotic and just not right.

In the meantime, I've blown my birthday boot money on these beauties:

I saw them a few weeks back, then they were out of my size when I looked at them again, now my size is back again and they only have two pairs left, so I've gone for it, as they come to a fiver under my birthday money, and I checked they're real leather; non leather doesn't last nicely and tends not to be so well made IME. Looking forward to getting them.

Primark is not as cheap as it once was by a country mile. Horrific place to shop, though. The one here has the heating turned up to the max, so about five minutes in you are dying of heat exhaustion.

Sorry to not include pics of what I bought but I've recently started looking at clothes on ebay and can't think of anywhere else to ask such trivial questions. "Easy to wear". Wtf does that mean?
