Dead (Loyalist) man walking

Now that is taking the piss... he is either the luckiest serial killer alive (and he is certainly not the brightest, is he?)... or you would have to ask some serious questions...

Have any questions been asked about it in the Scottish parliament Fedayn ?

I take it he is too young to have been involved in Kincora Casually Red ?

Not as far as I know.

There has been some comment from politicians about how they find having to deal with Beggs continued stabs at the system from prison "distasteful" but nothing that I'm aware of about how the whole matter was handled in the first place.

Dennis Nilsen was very briefly assigned to the kitchens at Wandsworth on account of his having served in the army Catering Corps, thereby provoking officers and inmates alike to boycott the dining hall until he was reassigned.

Harold Shipman was a medical orderly at Durham on account of his previous medical experience.

The prize goes to the staff at Kilby Prison in Alabama. They routinely assigned condemned inmatesthe grim task of removing bodies from the electric chair and wheeling them to the prison morgue. The chair in question having a large sign above it bearing the words:

'We do two kinds of justice here. Regular or Extra Crispy.'

meanwhile at HMP Slade...

Fletch - "Do you know who made our raspberry blamange last week? Riggs and he's in here for poisoning"

Godber - "did he really?"

Fletch - "Yeah he's a cause celeb in his home town Newcastle under Lyme, come to think of it most his relatives are under lyme now"

Godber - "Is that why they call him arsenic Riggs?"

Fletch - "oh no, that's because he once sat on a razor blade"

People like RJ Kerr and Billy Wright didn't last too long after they weren't needed anymore

Scum who got what they deserved

Scottish law can be odd . For example when a group of men gang raped a woman and slashed her all over with razors Nicholas Fairburn just let them walk free . Beggs would only be rearrested if somebody directed the cops to do so . We don't know for sure that would have happened .

He moved ...and shagged ..in high circles . I'd say he could well have dirt on people .

No. That was not the case.

From Wiki:

A prosecution was dropped in a case involving the gang rape and mutilation of a young woman after doctors determined she was too traumatized to serve as a credible witness.[4]One journalist telephoned the Solicitor-General to ask why, and Fairbairn told him. This was a major breach of protocol, and Fairbairn had to resign.[5] After a media campaign, a private prosecution was brought by the victim in 1982 under ancient Scottish law. It was known as the Carol X case. All three of the perpetrators were convicted, with one sentenced to 12 years in prison.[4]
