You will [not] be surprised to read that evri / hermes are in my bad books ...
bought some stuff from toolstation and had it delivered as other commitments prevented collection.
so far, so good.
evri then claimed that no-one was at the delivery address at the time delivery was attempted [oh, yes they were] ...
instead of the 24hr delivery we needed, it took until after the w/end.
somewhat pissed off with the wasted time
I've risked it and had a bath in the hope that like sparking a smoke at a bus stop , the Royal mail will appear. They have notDespite me getting an alert that my parcel would be delivered by 12.49 pm today it has not been. I have avoided having my daily bath because from previous experience they seem to deliver when I am in it. This means I miss the delivery.
Also the Royal Mail tracking just says: out for delivery......
Vexed,

It wasn't, but because I was in Poole, we didn't have a means to collect it.Toolstation have their deliveries made by Evri? Hopefully whatever you ordered wasn't expensive.
Speaking as a postie, I'm not surprised. Requesting a redelivery and then not being in is the one of the most annoying things you can do to us.I requested redelivery of a parcel from last week - I got stuck down south and the postie passive aggressively left red cards. Expecting delivery sometime today but it's already 2.30....
In my defence, I caught the delivery notification and asked for a different date, but despite doing the redilvery booking as soon as I got it (and three hours before delivery usually is) the postie ignored the instructions so left a red card that day, and another the next day, and a final one the day I got caught down south (no trains back home), the day I had asked for.Speaking as a postie, I'm not surprised. Can you explain how they passive/aggresively left red cards, as I would like to try this in future?
It's Saturday. The parcel did not appear on the scheduled redelivery on Tuesday. In my defence, I caught the delivery notification and asked for a different date, but despite doing the redilvery booking as soon as I got it (and three hours before delivery usually is) the postie ignored the instructions so left a red card that day, and another the next day, and a final one the day I got caught down south (no trains back home), the day I had asked for.
I booked a redelivery for today as soon as the system allowed but no sign of it. The soonest I would be able to go to the delivery office will be Saturday, when I will find out if my parcel is still there.
So yeah, just put multiple cards through the letterbox but don't deliver the parcel.
It’s now off to Hong Kong according to the Portuguese woman at DHL who apologised for laughing . Should be back this way around the 14th. Human error she said .I had to get a birth certificate notarised at the Passport Office . Duly sent the documents off and opted for it to be sent over here . Home Office uses DHL as it needs to be signed for. Get a message last week that its going to be delivered on Friday 7th by 7pm . Get another reminder morning of the 7th and naturally nothing is delivered by 7pm. No customer service at weekends , so wait until today and check on line where it is and I think I've found the reason for delay

Any progress or did your documents literally go around the world?
A supplier I buy from regularly has switched their delivery company to Evri.
Got here a week after it was expected . Very pleasant bloke who spoke some English and laughed when I showed him the route.Any progress or did your documents literally go around the world?
Solidarity fistbump, I've had the same recently and it is a bit frustrating, especially as the Automatic Redelivery is incredibly unpredictable.I have had very poor results when trying to get delivery times changed with Royal Mail. I don't think it's ever worked. It always works like this: Last week I got a notification that a delivery was scheduled for Monday. OK, I'm not going to be in then, I'll postpone it to Tuesday. Confirmation comes back that it's been moved to Tuesday, great.
Monday, when I was actually at home anyway incidentally it turned out, I get an email saying "we tried to deliver today but couldn't" (they did not try to deliver, I would have known as I was in all day). Then eventually it arrives Thursday.
Trying to change delivery dates via the Royal Mail website just seems to confuse everyone. I think I would have been better off just not doing anything. Well I mean I would as I was at home anyway on Monday but even if I'd not been.

That is going to be the most well-rested, reinvigorated birth certificate in the world by the time you get it

I've probably said it before, but a tactic I used to use, back when I was ordering quite a lot of computer equipment from places like Scan, was to ask them, after I'd placed the order, which courier they used. If they said "City Link" or "Hermes", I asked if there was any alternative, and if they said no (they usually did), I'd cancel the order there and then.A supplier I buy from regularly has switched their delivery company to Evri.
I'd ordered yesterday on next day delivery.
Parcel was out for delivery at 1pm. Delivery estimate was 5-6. Then switched to 3-4. Then changed again to 4-5.
No sign of it by 6.15, then the delivery is changed to 'it will be delivered by 1st July. Sorry it's been delayed '.
I hate that there's never an explanation for the delay with Evri. That delivery is completely random most of the time.
Wankers.
I noticed that on a previous parcel - their clock was a few hours different from actual time. Not sure why Evri are so crap as they appear to have a time machine. I checked my email at 10am this morning to see they had picked my parcel up at 2:40pm this afternoon.
