Ooh How'd you make that? What's it made of? Can we have a close up of the dragon?I've just finished making Drogon.

I have two printers here, and I'm designing and building a third. They print really slowly, so one simply cannot have enough of them.

The headpiece is already made, and I have til the end of august to make the whole parrot.
What are they? These just turned up:

Not quite ready to get started yet, need to set up a heat/humidity chamber. But exciting.

I 3D printed a working TARDIS.
Have you seen the inside? It looks a bit small, is it for time-travelling hamsters?
Can you not just upscale the print by X percent?I was going to make myself a boiler suit, after the success of the jumpsuits (now 2 of them - same pattern) and downloaded and printed off this pattern which is only £1 if you register for the website. Having cut all the bits of paper out I now realise it's far too small for me. I could use the top half and substitute some other trouser pattern for the bottom half, but suspect it will be a nightmare to fit.
Enthusiasm for this project also severely dented by getting an email from fecking John Lewis this morning titled "The utility boilersuit! This season's must have!"
Hahahahahahahahahaha no.Can you not just upscale the print by X percent?
Then can you not scale it just the horizontal? I dunno how patterns and bodies work... genuine question.Hahahahahahahahahaha no.
I bought a motorbike jacket like this last year clearly designed by someone with no knowledge of designing for plus sizes. No, fat people do not have long arms like chimpanzees.
I'm not sure I do either. I did some pattern cutting and abandoned it because my garment success rate was much lower than if I just bought a commercial pattern and maybe tweaked it a bit. Then can you not scale it just the horizontal? I dunno how patterns and bodies work... genuine question.
Yeah, I'm with you.I'm not sure I do either. I did some pattern cutting and abandoned it because my garment success rate was much lower than if I just bought a commercial pattern and maybe tweaked it a bit.
I think one of the big problems is that fat isn't distributed evenly. It's not like you gain, say, a 2cm coating all over, waist, neck, fingers and all. And in order for something to look good on, just being big enough to get into isn't sufficient. Plus everyone is shaped differently.
Pattern cutting well is a dark art and trousers are notoriously difficult.
That sounds a lot more technical than I thought, but I'll dig the pattern out and send you a picture anyway. Also men are mostly fairly tubular and thus easier to cut for but women go in and out all over the place.
Thanks Boudicca. I can get decent motorbike jackets these days with all the armouring, vents, removable linings etc etc so I don't try making my own any more... Although I couldn't find a summer weight one at all this year so maybe I should accept.
