Yeah, but presumably the police are saying we need to check on the baby, where is it. And they say we’ve left. Her/him, with a friend. They are safe. But we’re not telling you who. That is hiding something. I hope it is something like this, rather than something more grim of course.

Good good. I'm not having a go at anyone in particular, the whole fucking story stinks. Every time I see it in the news it pisses me off a bit more. Very telling how each of them have been reduced/described.
It still strikes me that coercive control plays a part in this but that could be down to how the media have framed it like you describe. Aristocrat’s property acts in ways that wouldn’t happen except for black criminal (they don’t say the latter but don’t need to). She also has agency.
But it was the ‘cut off from family and friends’ that made me think that as it’s pretty text book. But none of us really know for sure.
