Amanda Knox Is Innocent

.

The call was made 15 minutes after 2 postal police came to the house to return mobile phones found in a garden. Knox and Solecitto told them they had "already" called the police (untrue) as there looked to have been a burglary (the staged one). 20 minutes later they actually call the police. They lied to the postal police who surprised them outside the house, which incidentally stunk of bleach from the cleaning.

To make sense of this it needs to be seen in context.
IIRC (and I may not) the timestamps on the CCTV were not accurate and this point has been brought into question. You'll have to do your own digging to check this, but at least some of the dodgy timing evidence has been resolved.

What a surprise. Too fucking bad she won't face justice and- undoubtedly- the US government will not extradite her.

I heard tonight on the radio that he would be present for the verdict....he will go to jail and AK not?

He wasn't in court for the verdict having cited stress as his reason. His passport has been confiscated so it's very likely he'll be picked up ASAP.

As for Knox, that depends on whether the US Secretary of State (John Kerry) approves a request under the 1983 extradition treaty between Italy and the US. Even if he approves the US Supreme Court would still have to rule on whether granting the request would be constitutional.

Good news. Hopefully she will be extradited but we'll see how the US responds to those proceedings.

The chance of her being extradited is zero. The trial, the appeal, the appeal of the appeal, and now the imminent appeal of the latest re-instated verdict is high farce. It makes the entire Italian justice system/state look utterly random and absurd. To describe the entire process as Kafkaesque fails do it justice. Absolutely bonkers.

I must say, my faith in the Italian Justice system isn't too high. Didn't they prosecute some scientists a while back for failing to predict an earthquake?

Sadly you're probably right. :(

One might ask what kind of scientist can't make reliable predictions. Economists, sociologists, psychotherapists, and by the look of it, volcanologists.

DNA evidence is only ever as reliable as the people collecting to begin with and then later processing it.
It seems to be incredibly vulnerable to criticism by a competent defence team. I'm inclined to side with the prosecution in this, but the case is weak enough that it should fail the beyond reasonable doubt test. Sometimes these things just don't get resolved.

I still don't get how the murder was supposed to have happened.

Three convicted, when did they meet and work together? What was the motive?

I'm also still puzzling why there does not appear to be any previous history of violence concerning Knox and Solicetto. Murder from a standing start is one hell of a progression.

From those who are convinced what's the clincher that isn't circumstancial?
