Album Recommendations 2018

Mudhoney were always my favourite band of that scene. They just sound so strung-out. I listened to Superfuzz for the first time in years a few weeks ago and I thought it had held up well. Appalling production, but that's part of the charm.
Hey, belboid and us saw them double that.

I could hear tons of other "homages" to other artists on the ezra furman album, but honestly roxy music just didn't ever jump to mind. Anyway, it is a fine album regardless, not perfect but definitely entertaining and takes me away.

dunno if it's worst, I haven't listened to it in years but it's sounding brilliant so far. I'm quite into that smooth overproduced pop sound right now mind...

Which makes me want to put on Alex Cameron's last record. Also better than anything by Roxy.

I actually meant I hadn't heard the 1st two ezra furman albums, I thought that was what the post was referring too! but yeh of course I'm sure the first roxy music albums are well worth listening to properly. I love "mother of pearl" of course, that is one of my all time favourites.

I'm sure I've heard it all at some point anyway some of my friends were in this group "proxy music" for a bit so it was getting played a lot. That was where the "proxy music" half joke I made that everyone missed came from.

oh I see. Maybe it was... Eno left after the second Roxy album, so they sound a different after, I thought that's what butch was on about. It might be!

I was too early with the Mudhoney excitement: it's not out 'til next Friday.

I did get the new Aphex EP today though, and, on first listen, it's good. I can tell that it'll reward repeat listens. [It's officially an EP and only 29 minutes long, so does it count for this thread?]

Loads of albums are 20-30 mins long, or even less! But the aphex thing is def an ep not an album. I put some EPs in this thread though.
