Album Recommendations 2018

I don't think anyone has mentioned Ezra Furman's "trans angelic upstarts" album from earlier this year. It isn't my usual thing, but something about it is grabbing me having just put it on randomly this evening... it is def quite an achievement.
It’s not as good as Perpetual Motion People, but is still damned fine. As said elsewhere, just something else live too.

Took my 13 year old ‘gender nonconforming’ niece to see him last year, and she just fell in love.

I'll give that a go. They went full Hawkwind around the mid-'00s - haven't heard anything they've done (if anything) since then.

Once I'd translated their Pseud's Corner entry of a review, I think Wire said it was back to their grunge roots. Maybe the whole genre is having an Indian summer, as Alice in Chains have just released a new one too. Shoegaze did it a couple of years ago, with Ride and Slowdive, and MBV not long before.

Mudhoney were always my favourite band of that scene. They just sound so strung-out. I listened to Superfuzz for the first time in years a few weeks ago and I thought it had held up well. Appalling production, but that's part of the charm.

I gave perpetual motion a quick listen today and it is good, but Im now convinced after a few more listens that this new one is total genius! Every song is gold, it is a proper classic album.

I hate George Ezra.

No new music here. I'm concentrating on my PJ Harvey back catalogue at the moment.

Jungle - For Ever on XL Recordings. Just listening for first time. 80's groove/house rhythms/pop/soul. Some decent tracks so far and has its own sound to it. I haven't heard of this act before, so quite impressed.
