Just discovered this stone cold classic, 28 years too late - Repeats by UK techno supergroup Repeat (Mark Broom and Dave Hill with Andy Turner and Ed Handley off of Plaid & Black Dog Productions.
Kicking myself that I ignored it at the time for some reason. This is techno in its truest sense - melodic, booty-shaking and funky. This what they mean when they call techno ‘machine funk’:

Yes, now I've clicked on it, I'm getting loads of links to making music like Bicep, Fjaak, or even, Skee Mask. I am partly taking the piss, but it does actually genuinely interest me, so a big thank you to him & ETA- there are not many producers who have impressed me more than Skee Mask did on his last LP (Pool). Every time you listen to it, there's about 85 new things you have never noticed before.

Compro is also wicked and there are many similarities between the two, but I just love the way you can totally get lost in the breadth of tracks in Pool.

Pool is top drawer. I've been caning it the last few days. There's one track in the middle with big live sounding drums which I'm not so keen on as I find it a touch jarring - but that aside it's definitely up there with Compro. One to get lost in as you say ...
