zac goldsmith named as tory candidate for london mayor

adam curtis "mayfair set" is a useful little primer for those that may not be fully up with the goldsmith brand legacy.

To be fair, Zac has tried to escape from his father's shadow

afaik the Greens aren't "backing Goldsmith". What has been quoted out of context above is the foolish thinking aloud of Baroness Jones, ( Not a universally popular or representative Green and a significant number of Greens disagreed with her even being nominated for the Lords) back in May. The Green candidate is Sian Berry and I would guess that if there is any official Green position on transfer votes it is now highly likely, post Corbyn victory, to be recommended to transfer to Khan. Interesting still though, that the London Tories think their best bet is to put forward someone with a "conservationist" veneer against Khan and Berry.....

Her Wikipedia page reads like one of the characters from Nuts in May. Fuck awful smug cliched greenies. Blurgh.

Looking like the selection of a non-dom, multi-millionaire, trust-fund sucking, tax-evading twat is not paying off for the vermin.
Sadiq Khan remains on course for a landslide victory over Zac Goldsmith in the race to become London's next mayor, according to a new poll out today.

The Opinium poll for the Evening Standard found the Labour candidate is five points ahead in the first round and a whopping 10 points ahead once second preferences are counted.

It suggests Goldsmith is failing to cut through with voters, even in Tory strongholds. Goldsmith and Khan are neck-and-neck in outer London, with Khan ten points clear in inner London. At the past two mayoral elections, Boris Johnson won outer London boroughs by large margins.

Explains all the attempts on Fawkes etc to link Khan to Isis supporters and various other shades of crap.
Scum like Staines would have been up to shit like that whatever, but might explain quite how desperate it feels.
