World Cup Sweepstake

Infidel Castro

Producto Falso
I drew Brazil :D.

There aren't many teams you'd want apart from them, eh? For once I stand a decent chance of winning the work's sweepstake...

What teams have you got from the hat(s)?

I've been asked to organise ours, we haven't picked ours out yet.

What's the format of yours? We were thinking £2 a team, £60 for the winner and a £4 'prize' for the team that comes last.

Hot topic during yesterday's Tea break

Entry fee
Some wanted a fiver, some as little as a pound. We nearly went for £2.50 but in the end went down to £2 to make sure we get 32 names down and so we don't have to fuck about with 50ps.

Prize split
Our of our £64 - The winner gets £35, 2nd place £15 and 3rd place a tenner. The remaining £4 goes to the worst team in the tournament. Lowest group stage points, worst goal diff, most red cards.

Haven't actually got around to drawing ours yet though.

Think we've decided on 4 lottery tickets for the loser, although have yet to decide if this means scratch cards or lotto tickets. Probably get two of both, just to be fair

Hopefully sending out the email today and then will be trudging round with bits of paper rolled up in a disposable cup  :D

I'm doing ours & keeping it simple-

£2 per nation
£45 to the winner
£19 to the nation which concedes most goals (not goal difference)

No teams drawn until they are all sold.

Yeah, us too :(

We've only drawn around 10 and I've decided the rest are to remain secret until every team has been drawn. Obviously there's no way to stop people talking but it's the best I can do now everything's started rolling.

Still, know for next time (the Euros I guess).

I learnt the last time I did the Grand National sweepstake at work & had to buy the last few myself.

I've sold about 8 out of 32. People will be getting their money back at this rate.

The feller who started off our sweepstake has done a bunk, walking out of work never to return. We had to redraw the sweepstake and I got Chile. Sons of bitches. They're tidy, and can threaten the last 16 or maybe even the quarters, but from the heady delights of Brazil, it's a bit of a comedown. My mate, who understands football not a jot, ended up with Spain. "Are they any good?" he asked. Bastard.
