Exactly the same here. I get tested at least weekly, never had covid but have a bastard of a head cold right now.Dunno but never tested positive so in theory no... Got a bad cold now but still testing negative.
Loss of taste and smell makes it quite a bit more likely you had it, but like you say its not possible to be sure due to lack of testing back then. And testing isnt perfect, some whove failed to get a positive when ill probably still had it.The last time I was ill was Dec 2019 to Feb 2020. A 'cold' that turned into an electrical crackling chest . Went on for weeks, hacking unproductive cough and lost sense of smell and taste. Neither have returned 100%. Food smells and tastes 'different' still. But this was before testing so who knows?
Haven't been ill since, triple jabbed now.
Turns out I spoke too soon, she just tested positive.Mrs BB hasn't had it, but everyone else in the house has.
It's not been fear of going out with me, more to do with difficulty getting out. BUT saying that, been getting a bit too used to not going out. Yeah, that's a concern with people throwing caution to the wind. It's a tricky balancing act, but I'm glad you are seeing people and getting out. It's important to if you can.I'm also afraid to go out and am largely avoiding people. It feels more difficult now that most people are abandoning all precautions.
I'm wearing masks, not going into small places / peoples houses and mostly only seeing older people who are triple vaccinated out doors or spacious well ventilated rooms.
Hope your mum is ok (and you)!Managed to avoid it despite looking after my mum who tested positive last weekend & a spell in hospital where it was rife.
Seemed weird wearing a mask at home & was expecting to get it but FFP2 masks seemed to have worked.
She is a lot better today thanks. It was a bit dodgy earlier in the week cos she has a dodgy ticker & has had blood clots on her lungs.Hope your mum is ok (and you)!
Current poll numbers are that 65% haven't had it, which is probably not far of my real world experience. Maybe more like 75% of people I know haven't had it. And that includes people still travelling into work.
I’ve not had it. I’ve put this down to not really hanging around with people that have school-age children.
Interesting.....I first used the herb andrographis in March 2020 and bought a lot of herbal tinctures to help strengthen the immune system and the respiratory system and lungs. This was before there was testing or vaccines.Well the neighbour I idly wondered whether I'd caught it off hasn't got it. Possibly a cold, possibly not. And the cough I got seems to have cleared up. So no touch wood I've not had it.
But came across this - doctor has a science-based explanation for why people have gone all the way through without catching it but on-line harassment has meant he had to take down his social media post.
Antibodies can fall below detectable levels more than six months after infection. That doesn't mean you have lost all immunity, though, as your T-cell response can still be primed.I was pretty sure I'd had something like this early on, but I did a blood test for Zoe about 6 months ago, which showed I had no antibodies, so clearly hadn't.
We've seen with mass testing that it spreads first among younger people who're out and about before taking hold among the more vulnerable. Given the way the hospitals filled up rapidly with older people in March 2020, it seems very likely it was already circulating a fair bit in February.I don't think I've had it although I was quite ill in Feb just before the outbreak which has always made me wonder. Short of breath, flu like symptoms.
The fact that I haven't had it is a bit odd given how many people I've been in contact with who have but I don't want it either so I'm quite happy with that. Everyone seems to have it up here at the moment.
