Mrs Q and I have just got over it having dodged it since the beginning
I still know quite a few people who haven't had it but I think I know more that have than haven't

I voted “haven’t had it yet”. I wonder how many of us who think we haven’t had it have actually had a symptomless case? Guess we will never know.

Nope. Not had it, despite my wife having it and almost everyone else at family Christmas gathering having it. My granddaughter stays with us quite a lot too and so there's another possible route to getting it. Bit weird really. Maybe I've been asymptomatic. 🤷‍♂️

I just tested postive this morning :(

First time i have felt ill since lockdowns etc started. Just cold symptoms so far.
Not sure how i caught it though.

I did have a bad cold in jan 2020 (before covid became a major story in the media and testing was widely available) that felt stronger than a normal cold but i have no idea if that was covid or not. That was last time i felt ill before now.

I had my 3 vaccines.

The last time I was ill was Dec 2019 to Feb 2020. A 'cold' that turned into an electrical crackling chest . Went on for weeks, hacking unproductive cough and lost sense of smell and taste. Neither have returned 100%. Food smells and tastes 'different' still. But this was before testing so who knows?
Haven't been ill since, triple jabbed now.

If I've ever had it, it was completely asymptomatic. The one time I fell ill since the pandemic started, I tested negative on an LFT, and my mum who I was in contact with at the time got a negative PCR test. So I voted that I haven't had it.

I put 'no' but that means I haven't had any symptoms or tested positive.

I have been resting fairly regularly throughout for various reasons so if I've had it it was missed by those and also completely asymptomatic.

Loss of taste and smell makes it quite a bit more likely you had it, but like you say its not possible to be sure due to lack of testing back then. And testing isnt perfect, some whove failed to get a positive when ill probably still had it.

I havent had a symptomatic case of it. I cant completely rule out having had it in an asymptomatic way but my lack of contacts makes it much less likely.

Had a positive PCR just before Xmas but had not a single symptom...and no-one else in the household had it (or a positive test) either...so who knows?

I'm also afraid to go out and am largely avoiding people. It feels more difficult now that most people are abandoning all precautions.
I'm wearing masks, not going into small places / peoples houses and mostly only seeing older people who are triple vaccinated out doors or spacious well ventilated rooms.
It's not been fear of going out with me, more to do with difficulty getting out. BUT saying that, been getting a bit too used to not going out. Yeah, that's a concern with people throwing caution to the wind. It's a tricky balancing act, but I'm glad you are seeing people and getting out. It's important to if you can.

Managed to avoid it despite looking after my mum who tested positive last weekend & a spell in hospital where it was rife.

Seemed weird wearing a mask at home & was expecting to get it but FFP2 masks seemed to have worked.
Hope your mum is ok (and you)!

Nope, neither of us in our household have had it.

Edited to add, must have had around 150 LFT/PCR tests since May 2021 for care home visits/work.

Well the neighbour I idly wondered whether I'd caught it off hasn't got it. Possibly a cold, possibly not. And the cough I got seems to have cleared up. So no touch wood I've not had it. :)

But came across this - doctor has a science-based explanation for why people have gone all the way through without catching it but on-line harassment has meant he had to take down his social media post.

I remain seemingly unscathed; I've been taking the tube in to the office nearly every work day for almost a year now. My partner's had it (from school in december), most of my colleagues have had it at least once (and several in the last fortnight). Some have had it three times. Thankfully no-one's had it serious.

I've had a bad cold recently, another import from school and my first one in years, but still no positive tests. Judging by the number of coughs and sniffles on the tube, the colds are definitely everywhere (and almost certainly a large degree of crossover with covid).

I don't know whether it's coincidence, but none of my direct family have had it either, touch wood.

Current poll numbers are that 65% haven't had it, which is probably not far of my real world experience. Maybe more like 75% of people I know haven't had it. And that includes people still travelling into work.

Given the thread title, this might be some self-selection bias. Based on people I work with, they're at about 75% of the office having had it at some stage (almost all of them this year).

I was pretty sure I'd had something like this early on, but I did a blood test for Zoe about 6 months ago, which showed I had no antibodies, so clearly hadn't.

Interesting.....I first used the herb andrographis in March 2020 and bought a lot of herbal tinctures to help strengthen the immune system and the respiratory system and lungs. This was before there was testing or vaccines.

I was already taking lots of supplements and had done a vit D test and had good levels .

The only people I saw for a very long time were people at work and we were wearing ppe. Also Surgery and theatres were very quiet for most f the year.

But now with things normal but different and I'm out living my life, I don't restrict myself at all , just lft regularly and continue to wear a mask on public transport, taxis and shops- out of respect for people who are shopping or taking public transport out of necessity. But I also choose not to wear a mask at gigs, clubs, restaurants and bars.

I'm smaller then in 2020 and fitter but still classed as clinically obese.....

Anyway I'm not under any illusions and expect to become positive at some point.

I don't think I've had it although I was quite ill in Feb just before the outbreak which has always made me wonder. Short of breath, flu like symptoms.

The fact that I haven't had it is a bit odd given how many people I've been in contact with who have but I don't want it either so I'm quite happy with that. Everyone seems to have it up here at the moment.

Antibodies can fall below detectable levels more than six months after infection. That doesn't mean you have lost all immunity, though, as your T-cell response can still be primed.

Like quite a few Londoners, I think I probably had it right at the start, just before it became a thing. I was idly thinking about getting a test before I learned that antibodies disappear over time so a negative test a year later wouldn't prove I hadn't had it.

We've seen with mass testing that it spreads first among younger people who're out and about before taking hold among the more vulnerable. Given the way the hospitals filled up rapidly with older people in March 2020, it seems very likely it was already circulating a fair bit in February.

Quite a lot of people I know, including me, had a slightly strange illness in Feb 2020. If I did have it, I'm quite likely to have been a spreader.

I haven't, but was at a packed 2000 people gig last night (first since no vaccine passport/negative test required) ... so we'll see.
