fwiw I believe Starmer, like his predecessor, has a season ticket at Arsenal.

I find JC's fan credentials more believable tbh
Lucky bastards. He was certainly a gooner at the turn of the century.

Well that explains everything

Gordon Brown is proper Raith Rovers, Tony Blair was some kind of fake Newcastle. No idea about Smith or Kinnock
Kinnock is Cardiff. I wouldn’t have thought Smith would have approved of anything as light hearted as football.

fwiw:
Johnson - lol
May - lol
Cameron - Aston Villa (or West Ham when he gets confused and forgets which is which)
Howard: Liverpool & Swansea
IDS: Tottenham & Villa (eh?)
Hague: Rotherham United
Major: Chelsea
Thatcher: Blackburn Rovers (well she was life president anyway)

I thought Hague being a millers fan sounded implausible but I've just looked him up and apparently he comes from there, I feel like I need to either adjust my perception of Hague or of Rotherham a bit now.

Please don’t. Hague and his family are viewed as scum around here. I’ve been watching Millers for 53 years and I have never seen that twat at a match. He hangs around the Rugby Union apparently.
Though The Chuckle Brothers is a different can of worms.

I think Corbyn probably only became an Arsenal supporter when he became MP for their area (or maybe a bit before that), but that was a long time ago and he definitely seems genuine in his posts about them. Basically part of him being a genuinely excellent local MP fully vested in the area he represents, despite any criticisms people might have had about him as leader of the labour party.

There's pictures of his sons when they were kids in 90s Arsenal shirts with their dad. And Arsenal were RUBBISH in 1983 anyway :D

Yeah, he's genuine. Lots of people who become invested in the local mob when they move to an area in middle age
