Some discussion here. AFAIK it basically finishes with the letters, that's all they can do
perhaps this should be for another thread, but what is that in language someone who is only partially techliterate can understand?I use cloudflare warp which lets me access the torrent sites as they’re blocked by my isp. It’s free
I’m not 100% sure as I have the same level of tech literacy but by installing it I was able to access torrents I couldn’t otherwise. Other people using my ISP recommended it (via Reddit)perhaps this should be for another thread, but what is that in language someone who is only partially techliterate can understand?
You cant connect to torrent sites in the UK, the most popular ones anyway (Pirate Bay, Demonoid etc). Internet Service Providers (BT, Virgin, O2, TalkTalk etc etc) have blocked the actual IP addresses so the webpages won't load when you type them in. I imagine you know what a torrent is but if not probs best to google as not sure how to explain that properly... a way of downloading files shared by many people basically.perhaps this should be for another thread, but what is that in language someone who is only partially techliterate can understand?
That's changed since I last torrented (about 6 years ago) - you could get anything via Pirate Bay proxis and other torrent sites, but you might get the odd letter if you torrented something by a big player such as Marvel. You cant connect to torrent sites in the UK, the most popular ones anyway (Pirate Bay, Demonoid etc). Cloudlare Warp is clearly some way of getting round this. Not used it personally. I have a VPN which can do the same thing.
Im on the Netflix £5 a month with adverts deal. Not sure it's worth it really. Tempted to give it jp and save the money... but it's so convenient.
I’ve never had a problem not using one . A free one might work as there isn’t a detection from a streaming service. Not sure about broadband suppliers .Still need a private VPN though?
That would be reassuring to me, but perhaps not to an 82-year-old who has never pirated anything in his life.
if it was me that got the emails, it wouldn't be an issue!Yeh I get that. I've seen the letters, they are a bit threatening... but yeh, there's nothing they can practically do. It's only the ethical concerns which should stop you I guess... They have to do it legally. But they really dont give a shit. Just dont tell your dad he's watching pirate material. My 7yo son has a far stronger moral compass than I do so would probably object if he knew he was watching a pirated version of Jurassic World but hey I just dont mention it. He actually quite likes watching the 'little blue line' on Transmission as his films download

Sort of a simple version of a VPN I think basically
TUBI with a US VPN is ok . Adverts which you cant get rid of but some decent older stuff on there if you search. The Brit version doesn't look as good at all. I've got Amazon Prime Spain here as they deliver to Portugal and it's just over half the price of Prime UK. plus shared logins for HBO, Paramount , Disney etc.

Now I'm co-habiting with my pa, I don't torrent cos my name is not on the IP account. But I was wondering if there were other ways...
Now tv vouchers on eBay are always a winnerI swap between them. Get one for a few months, then move to another, just depending on what show I'm most desperate to see. Netflix will be necessary when Better Call Saul starts up again. NOW TV can generally be got for the cheapest (look out for deals), but whether it's worth it really depends on if you like what's on offer - I'm really enjoying Euphoria at the moment.
Just recently installed the 'Redflix' Kodi build.I have Prime but I don't use it to watch stuff. I pay a few quid for a Real Debrid account, and stream everything on a Kodi plugin on the Firestick. Been doing it that way for years and never had an issue.
Or use a seedbox. Yes it does cost and more complex to set up, but it’s a top tier way of torrenting.Best way is to pay for a decent but good value VPN for a year or two. Pretty affordable IME. Ive torrented loads and never once had an email or a letter. Or maybe you have a friend's account you can share... I'm borrowing my pal's PureVPN account right now.
Another benefit is if you ever want to watch content that's location restricted you can get around that. I just used that feature yesterday in fact. And watched iplayer and itv from abroad with no issues too. If you have Prime/Netflix you can use a US IP to view content we can't get here as well...
You can also use it for security/privacy if that's ever a concern. I generally dont bother but if I had to do banking/Pay Pal via public wifi or something I definitely might.
It is yeah. Discovery and vice are both available on foreing pluto services but I’ve always had problems setting them up to watch hereIs Pluto TV available in the UK? It's similar to Tubi, in that it's a free platform with ads. I would say that it has a better catalogue than Tubi.
Might be worth checking out the US version of Pluto TV if you use VPNs.
I was still on Kodi 18.9 until last night. V19.0 was when Kodi moved to Python 3, but there was a massive gap between the release of v19 and anybody writing Python 3 compatible plugins for it, so I just stuck with 18.9, as it had plugins that worked for me. But, after reading your post and reading up on Redflix, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it wouldn't even install on Kodi 18.9, so after waiting for 3 years, I finally bit the bullet and installed the latest version of Kodi, and Redflix installed flawlessly.Just recently installed the 'Redflix' Kodi build.
Very small download (only about 50mb!) Uses the Fenlight video addon which searches very quickly and gives good Debrid results.
Visually it's a modification of the standard Estuary skin but looks a lot more sleek and not as hideous as most 3rd party skins/builds. I turn off most of the widgets as they just slow the interface down displaying content I'm not particularly interested in. Search for content via Trakt list shortcuts in Favourites, and director/actor rabbit-holes via the rather good Fenlight implementation of Info pages which you can set to display before you search for links.
Added a couple of extra addons like Daddylive for live TV links, Rising Tides for footy and mp3streams for music.
Could add all the other video addons but there's really not much point - Fenlight is pretty comprehensive and doesn't take up much space on a Firestick/Chromecast.
(I've left the widgets on for this screenshot)
