:(

I've got some prawn crackers and sweet chilli dip if you want to share.....
I have deep suspicions that there isn't actually any food in the world that would make me feel comforted

hence the sitting here on urban rather than in my kitchen :)

I done a roast duck. I cooked it for my husband and brother-in-law, who I like cooking for because I get to indulge my matriarchal fantasies and say things like "Boys! One of you needs to set the table!".

thanks love, no I've just had an unsettling weekend where I'm not really sure how I'm feeling now except a bit, err, dunno :hmm: if that makes sense

You sound like you need a nice bit of quiet and a gratifyingly rubbish magazine. I suggest Take a Break and some Dairymilk.

:hmm: I may have to acquire one tomorrow - I'm relying on tea and the repeat of last nights X factor to help out :)

i ate my roast, was ok but didnt really fancy it, what i really wanted was cheese on toast followed by cake, big gooey chocolate cake with cream, and sprinkles. instead i have a slimfast caramal chocolate bar thing, which lovely as it is, isnt cake :(

All my plans for dinner went right out the window when I popped round me Mum's and was (almost) force-fed a Roast Beef and mustard sarnie and a cake that was sort of cross between a creme brulee and an apple pie. Bloody marvellous, it was. :)

Last night I did mushrooms (big flat field mushrooms) & onion fried in a pan with butter, chopped a couple of cloves and garlic and some parsley and boiled a pan of pasta. When the mushrooms and onion were completely cooked and melting I put a smidge of chilli flakes in. Mixed it up with the drained pasta and then added the garlic and parsley and a little ground black pepper. It was very nice indeed.

sounds good.

its 4am here and i haven't even thought about tea. i just ate some pulao, beef kebab, lamb makhni and masoor daal....:)

oooh, lucky missfran! the only reason i want to get married is to fill the wedding gift list with turquiose le creuset :D

Last night i made 'spring pasta': spirelli with steamed leeks and peas in a lemon creme fraiche sauce.

tonight it's sausages from Jimmy's Farm with mash and broccoli :)

I love bangers and mash. My boyfriend likes sausages and mash seperately but not together (weird) so I never get to do em. I make the best mash too, no lumps!

I've been on holiday camping recently and have eaten a diet of stodge and biscuits so am looking forward to a healthy nutritious chickpea curry and brown rice for tea today. A recipe call "very spicy delicious chickpeas" from a Madhur Jaffrey book which I'm hoping will live up to it's title!

i am thinking it will be a snack box sushi, and a bagel of some sort, either cheese or peanut butter. still off hot food tbh.

It will :) I've got the same recipe and it's been one of my staples for years. Everyone I've ever made it for has gone wild for it. Enjoy!

Boyfriend just phoned to say he's taking me out for dinner tonight  so it'll be Japanese food for us.

Last night I took my last three lamb shanks out of the freezer (My butcher closed for good last Easter). I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to cook them. Probably something vaguely mediterranean.
