well I've eaten badly all weekend (fucking IKEA daim bars  sure they have crack in them) so this week I shall be back to normal eating

so tonight shall be pasta with a creamy chorizo/muchroom sauce

Oooh, I'm having pasta with garlic, chorizo and parmesan - wasn't sure what else to add, but thought the chorizo would give enough flavour from it's oil? :)

Still off my food (this is a very novel experience for me), and home alone tonight, so probably something out of the freezer.

i am going to use up the last of the leeks and make glamorgan sausages (recipe no 2 out of the new cook book :))

will have with mashed tatties, and roast carrots and parsnips. YUM!

I'm doing a sort of Coq au Vin but I've just looked at the chicken thighs that I got out of the freezer yesterday and I'm really not sure whether to risk it. :(

If they were off would they smell really bad?

they would smell yes :)

if they've been in the freezer they would have to have been off before you put them in unless your freezer isn't working properly :)

what makes you think they're off? oh woman that is excessively fussy about food :p

I got them out yesterday and left them out all night. I forgot to put them in the fridge.

Should I chuck them out? My friend has had a sniff and thinks they are ok but you know what I'm like about food. :D

depends how hot your kitchen gets

I would be fine with them tbh, a sniff test and then eat them

i tried octupus sushi sat nite....the taste was not unpleasant but the texture was a fit funky and rubbery

not my favourite - but then again i didn't eat it live (did you?).

tonight, i'm going old school with a proper vietnamese chicken noodle recipe.
can't wait!

tonight will be TTD salmon fish cakes with brocolli, sweetcorn and carrots. my body is craving vitamins :)

no, it was a piece of raw octopus on top of a lump of sticky sushi rice. it was ok but i probably wouldn't try it again.

The chicken will be fine moomoo. I always leave meat out overnight to defrost it. Cook it well, you won't die.

I'm feeling proud. I did loads of cooking over the weekend. Made loads of carrot & corriander soup, and a massive amount of chickpea and aubergine curry. It's all in my freezer now and is gonna feed me for the week

:) good feeling, innit? I'm still working me way through a shedload of frozen portions. Dead easy after a long day at work

I wish we had a freezer :(

On the plus side, I do have a massive, delicious portion of leftover curry for my lunch today :)

Not sure what's for tea tonight, maybe some kind of soup.

I'm considering doing smoked haddock with buttered roasted potatoes, asparagus and corgettes. May also do some cheesy mushroom parcels but wondering whether this would be over the top cholesterol-wise.
