at me dads house - 20lb roasted turkey with stuffing, mash with home made turkey gravy, peas, candied carrots, corn, home made buns with real sweet cream butter. cranberry sauce....

and for pudding i'm taking a pecan pie and pumpkin pie (store bought, of course)

5pm our time :)

Stew! Well, probably technically a casserole as it goes in the oven but that's a mere technicality.

Beef, red wine vinegar, leanperrins, wholemeal flour (I don't know why. I'm just experimenting). Onion, garlic. yellow pepper, carrot, herbs (rosemary and thyme?), red chilli flakes and um. That might be it. Oh, pinto beans.
I love cold weather food.

You can tell it's Thanksgiving, I've had over 500 hits on my site today just from people searching "how to roast carrots" and similar. :D

where's your website missfran?

I am thinking of ideas for tonight. I might try sage, pinenut and lemon stuffed pork loin with mashed parnsips. I dunno. I just made that combination up.

That sounds lovely!

I hope so. I'm just going on general principals. I did consider pureeing the parsnips and then adding them to the stuffing of the pork, considering pork likes sweet things. But that's probably a bit too much of a faff for a Thursday night tea.

What for? She doesn't deliver..............
  :p

actually I just looked at the pecan pie I bought to take over there and its got big chunks of dark chocolate in it....never seen that before

Bacon and lentil stew. Well, it's more of a casserole actually since I'm cooking it in the oven, but it's much the same either way, and very nice.

I haven't posted on here in ages, but boy have I been cooking and eating. Tonight, I'm having aubergine fried with loads of olive oil, then with green olive paste spread on it and then goat's cheese and parmesan on top, then banged in the oven til all melty and crunchy. That's just the starter. Main is leek and taleggio risotto

My dinner ROCKED.

Only took 40 mins to make, too.

Roast chicken legs and wiggly chips. We've been waiting for the Tesco delivery which turned out to be shite. Lots of naff substitutions and I've been overcharged for 2 lots of stuff. Usually they're good but they didn't deliver the fizzy water I ordered which I specifically wanted cos it's an arse to drag home in bulk.

And now Flashy's just shouted through that I've ordered oven wiggly chips not deep fry ones  I might just have malt loaf and mince pies and be done with it.

I *heart* fizzy water and it always topples me off my bike when I buy it in bulk. So I bought a soda stream  Fizzy water on tap (well, tap-> bottle -> satsfying farty-CO2 noise -> happy dance) :D

Innit just missfran. I have stress enough flitting between 2 jobs at the moment without being short changed with my fizzy water and stuff.

Funnily enough Zorra I was saying to Flashy the other day that we need a Sodastream. :) We used to have one at my folk's place when we were nippers and used ordinary squash for cordial most of the time. Although we did get that Witches' Brew stuff now and again.

((DC))

I am starving and I am still working. And it's 11.30pm here :( Please send me some food when it finally turns up!

i too have had a tesco issue  i get the organic veg box through them, but that didnt come today, they substituted gluten free cake thing with a dairy free but gluten containing thing and they sent a big bottle of smoothy that went out of date yesterday

so i now have to either change all my meal plans to eating for the weekend or traipse into town on the train then a long walk in the mud and dark after work to go get fresh veg, edible cake and smoothy goodness

we looked a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings and a nice bottle of plonk because it's been too long :)
