Family's away so can't be bothered to cook:

Aw jealous. I have not had oysters for aaaaages.

From Jeff's in the Market. Bit guilty as there isn't an R in the month. Took fucking ages to shuck, longer than cooking a proper meal.

well, we had an electrical fire in our oven on Saturday :( so ate out all weekend :) however, we can't afford to be so extravagent during the week until we get it sorted out, so it's likely to be some kind of salad for us tonight. or, things on toast :hmm: :(

hope the landlady sorts it out soon!

Tuna and brown rice salad for tea. Had a small bit of a delicious egg and chive fried pasty from a street stall already though.

Hope you manage to get your oven fixed soon. It's only when this sort of thing happens that you realise how much we take ovens for granted.

Absolutely - I keep thinking, "oh, we can have that for dinner... oh no, wait, we can't..." even when trying to think of things that don't need ovens, I realise that they actually do. might have to go and rescue the shitty microwave from the cellar!

I've had the opposite - the microwave died and it was only then did I realise how handy it is. Have to scrutinise any prepared food I buy in case it is micro-only. And heating minor things up like sauces is more time consuming on the hob, but I don't have room for a new microwave so have to make do. :)

We threw our old, tatty microwave away and never replaced as I had to make room for a shiny food mixer.
: o

I curse at least twice a week that we don't have one. Defrosting emergency meat, melting Ben and Jerrys, starting off jacket potatoes.

Anyway, I think we're having something chickeny tonight. I've got one of those new Philadelphia sauces so maybe that on chicken breasts and mushrooms or I might mix it with breadcrumbs and stuff the chicken. Dunno, will decide when I get back from Sainsburys.

Korean food from the Korean store so it'll be kimchee, spicy noodles, seaweed and meat dumplings. Served with tomato omelette.

It'll have to be just rice and beans for a while now, sadly. :( (Come payday I'll probably stuff myself with the laziest, unhealthiest crap possible, just 'cos I can... )

fuck it, we might go out for food again tonight... there's a new "Korean street-food" place opened just up the road from us since our neighbourhood is rapidly hipsterising

Gonna have some booze first. Fella off out so consoling myself over thieving cunts/my phone. Then probably chips, fishcake and peas. Not particularly enthusiastic, funnily enough :(

Maybe a veggie kiev from M&S (if they've got any) as they're dead nice and I've got a rotten cold and feel like treating myself!

Chicken Kiev with potatoes and courgettes* from my mum's garden and some salad

*tbf they're more like marrows, fucking enormous after recent weather and tlc - fuckers are bigger than my forearms :)
