What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I had chicken broth with lots of veg and little pasta hoops in it. Very virtuous.
I'll have a slice of my rhubarb and custard cake in a bit, to de-virt myself.

An ex college once got me proper tiny pasta alphabet letters for making alphabet soup.
I had never seen them before in this country and was very happy :)

I am going back to this restaurant again tonight and having the 10 course tasting menu:
A spoonful of Toddlers left over pasta
Gin
Conversation about what to eat for dinner
Gin
Maybe some dinner
Gin
Pudding
Gin
Gin
Baileys hot chocolate. Or Gin.

And what's for afters? Does it begin with a G perchance? It could be G & T jelly which I've always wanted to try.

Spicy chicken thighs, salad, baby sweetcorn, sugarsnaps and asparagus.

Should have bought a spud really, made some wedges to go with it. Ah well.

Oh, and wine. :)

Yesterday we had an afternoon tea which was so massive we didn't want anything else to eat for the rest of the day.

Savoury: Filo cups with coronation chicken, savoury scones with cheese and chilli jam, leek and broccoli tart and a selection of tiny sandwiches.
Sweet: Scone with jam & cream, lemony cake thing, raspberry cream filled meringues, strawberry tart, orange spice cake & a huge caramel filled chocolate. The last 3 of the sweet items were brought home in a box and I will have them later.
Everything was home made and the scones and tarts were warm from the oven. Heaven :)

Tonight it'll be a roast chicken, wedges, coleslaw and salad.

In a break from current form I have had an actual dinner of penne with a sausage, fennel and tomato sauce.
Pudding will be a yoghurt if I'm being sensible or ice cream if I overheat.
I will not be having any gin as it is a school night. No sir. Unless I do...

lazy pizza last night.
first bbq in new garden, Moroccan spiced sea bass & sticky chicken wings

BBQ! Chicken legs (in the oven first) with teryiaki sauce, sausages with buns and ketchup/mustard/pickles etc..potato salad, gerkins and - maybe - some homemade haloumi cheese

Another roast chicken here, done with loads of garlic and thyme. Plus roast spuds and squash, spicy celeraic smash, carrots and greens

Got the Glasto posse arriving later so going to go down Wetherspoons for a probable gourmet hot dog....could change, depending if Monday is 'Grill/Curry/Drugs' Night though... those damn marketing ploys get me every time :hmm:
