What's for tea tonight? (#8)

With peas and half a grilled tomato? And maybe a flat mushroom should you be the fungally inclined sort?

Nope. Just dead cow and spuds. Although I do like peas, toms and mushrooms, I only had peas in and couldn't be bothered. I'm weird and will happily eat a single thing in a big batch, such a big bowl of peas. :)

Roast tetties, vegetarian what'sits new tetties and fresh veg, followed by rhubarb crumble and custard,

Personally I would have been happy with a jam sandwich but I eat what I am given.

Mustard chicken, new potatoes in garlic butter and a pile of roasted veg: courgettes, tomatoes, red onions and whatnot.
This again. It was bloody lovely last night. Although I do have a craving for curry that may have to be satisfied tomorrow night. Haven't had a full on chilli blast for a bit.

ive had sum autistic mash, mental health carrots (the round type) an a narcistic meat pie wiv a jar of coops cheap curry sauce poured over top. life's bloody grand innit.

Bit of an experiment with recycled veg and stuff. It is a Friday poverty night again.

Finely chopped onions, garlic and fresh root ginger fried in a small amount of olive oil with ground black pepper, crushed chili and aniseed (found it at the back of the cupboard). Once softened added sliced red peppers, aubergines and tomatoes, then poured a Litre of water. Left to simmer for 30 minutes, or so. Added coriander, mint and oregano before seasoning with salt. Then added half a sachet of dried mash potato powder. It is actually very fucking nice.

I had one of those 2 for £7 steaks (rump) from Asda. Closest I've had to a perfectly cooked steak in a while, most of it at that point where the red juices are just starting to flow (except the thicker middle, which was a wee bit rarer  ). That was a 2 minute either side fry (~1 inch thick) - got another one for next week, maybe increase cooking time by 20 secs. Anyway, had it with garlic mushrooms, Jersey royal potatoes, white turnip, cabbage and horseradish sauce. Picked a decent red wine too: Argentinian Syrah/Malbec. :)
