I'm disappointed that their Disco biscuits are now called Groovy biscuits :(

Which begs the question, what did the chicken legs used to be called?

Fuck knows. Everyone in our family is knackered today, so the kids can have pasta and pesto when we get back from karate and the grown ups will have...?

I can sense an almost-payday takeaway coming on.

Two sirloin steaks (rescued from languishing in the freezer for ages) with some veg.

Same. But rump. I've just took them out....reckon they'll be defrosted by say, 6.30?

With chips and peas. And a tomato cut in half. With some dried parsley sprinkled on it for garnish :)

Just had a sneaky fishcake to keep me going. With lemon juice, salt, pepper and tartare sauce on it. Damn those things must be tasteless to require so many condiments.

I took mine out the freezer last night and left them in the fridge. They were still a bit frozen this morning so I've left them on the worktop to fully thaw. I suppose defrosting time depends on the thickness of the steak.

Edit to add - they fully defrosted after about an hour sat on the worktop so you should be fine.

Got paid yesterday yeehaa, soooo it's either chips, mozzarella burgers with mucky cheese slices on in seeded baps (or cheeseburgers as the rest of the world calls them), and salad, orrrrr spaghetti with veggie meatballs in tomato and basil sauce

Nice chilled Chilean chardonnay when I get in, perhaps a wee glass of red just before us tea, and some walnut layer cake for afters. Fuck.Ing.Nom.

Tuna steaks, new potatoes and broccoli. It's all a bit bland and I really fancy either the pepperoni pizza that's in the freezer for tomorrow for something with sauagey/fennel flavouring due to all the talk up thread about fennel.

Cooking early today. I'm taking an evening off.

Liver and onion with mushrooms. Sweet potato chips and peas. Very nice.

Garlic and onion softened in olive oil with loads of pepper. Add sliced mushrooms, oregano, chives and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes then turn the heat up. Add slices of liver dipped in seasoned flour. Fry hard for Five minutes. Turn the heat down. Add loads of chopped tomatoes and about Half a Litre of water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Season to taste.

Serve with sweet potato chips and bread with fresh garden peas.

It's going down well so far. More guests expected. €1.50 for a Kilo of liver!
