What's for tea tonight? (#8)

i dont really understand tbh. surely as long as its cooked it doesn't matter? im not the sort of person who would plan well enough to take meat out of the freezer the night before!

As long as it is properly cooked through then you're right, it won't matter.

Corn beef hash for me anyway.

So, I went out last night, cos it was St Georges day, and Molloys were doing 50% off food. So I'm all like YEAH!

Get down there and it's normally £5.75 for a pie and drink. So I order the beef and bacon pie, with a pint, expecting to save a quid or whatever. Turns out there's no beef and bacon, only steak and ale, fine, but also, cos they have to do the drink and pint seperately to save the money, it's now £5.97  so I'm like, blank the discount just give me it for normal price. Guys like 'I just work here'

So I had a overcrusty hard pie, mash that was made out of black hole material (i.e weighed infinitely more than it's volume suggested) and gravy that was thinner than water. For more than it would have cost normally. And it wasn't even the pie I wanted.

So tonight, it's gonna be......I don't know yet. BK or homemeade burgers, something I know where I am with.

Fishcakes which I think were smoked haddock and I wasn't sure I liked on first tasting but were actually really need, boiled/fryed charlotte potatoes, and a green salad. All rather healthy til I got to the banoffee pie. Pink wine. :)

Pink wine season?

Biggest pork chop I have ever seen with mini roast potatoes (I cut it in half to have the rest for lunch tomorrow!) Greek girl where I live cooked it for me, they're amazing in size and from Dombeys in Brixton apparently.

I don't think I have ever eaten a pork chop :hmm:

Yesterday was a fasting day so I had an M&S veggie moussaka for tea, which was surprisingly tasty and satisfying.
Normal eating day today (I must stop thinking of them as 'eat what you like days') and happily we've got some steak that needs eating.
So steak and (oven) chips, grilled mushrooms and a big pile of rocket salad.

Ah, been looking for decent lamb chops, but my local places and the supermarket ones are tiny. Do they do Barnsley chops? I had one in The Eagle in Farringdon and have been dreaming about it ever since :D

ETA: Just realised you were talking about pork chops. As you were.

Bloody mates are double bloody booked and aren't bloody coming, but bloody sod them I'm cooking this anyway with tortillas & dips to start, dauphinoise potatoes and buttered cabbage with the chicken, then chocolate cake for pud. Then I'm going to send them photos of it so they can see what they're bloody missing :D

I think they do so worth a visit. Fyi they're shut on Sunday and Monday.

I never really took to pork chops. Just not that mad on pork really.

Anyway, lazy tea tonight - pay day so we're on wiiiine, pizza, garlic bread, and salad! Think I'll jazz up the pizza with mushrooms, pesto, a sweet pepper and some extra mozzarella too

Some toasted soda bread and home made strawberry jam. Just had half the loaf for lunch, best toast I've ever probably had, it was cloud like inside but toasted just enough on the outside. The jam is made from the strawberries I grow in hanging baskets, delicious!

Yep, went a bit mad and got a packet of mixed mushrooms - porcini, shitake and sommat else. Got a ball of fresh mozzarella, plus one vine tomato, and a few not-very-hot chillis, and will also put some basil and oregano on top
