What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I've taken sausages and a piece of chicken out the freezer, so depends what defrosts :hmm: if neither do I'll have salad :D

Quick tea tonight as we've got a mate coming round for some help with song-writing from the fella. Veggie saussies, fried eggs, beanz*, and bread n butter it is then, then I'll fuck off upstairs for a read and let 'em get on with it.

* or, brinner, as my lass calls it, and not brunch :D

Even with the hash browns it needs a load more heart attack material. Scotch sausage, pure-fat bacon, black pudding and deep fried lard balls washed down with a pint of strong lager regardless of the time of day. Vegetarian brekko's just don't cut it for me I'm afraid, I want to walk away with a big red head, a racing heart and bulging veins after eating a fry up :)

Spaghettie Putannesca. I can't get enough of it. Bought some herbs in Rome to make it with and thought I was being ripped off but they really are fantastic. Also got a big tub of anchovies from Costco which are really gorgeous.

Now making some Ful Medames for breakfast:cool:

tonight's tea consisted of pasta, pasta sauce (chicken and mushroom flavour) chicken fillets, mushroom, onion and grated cheese. had a bit of a game at the start getting the chicken defrosted. blasted it in the microwave for two minutes but that seemed to be of almost no benefit at all! ended up having to part coook the chicken before slicing and returning to the frying pan. the thing i like about this tea is that by the end of it everything is in the same pan so there's no fannying around making sure everything is finished cooking at the same time.as you can see i have taken two photos - a 'before cheese' and an 'after cheese' picture ('before cheese' on the left, 'after cheese' on the right') i ate all of this tea and feel it was one of my better ones this week.

overall - 7/10

Wouldn't it deserve more than the usual 7/10 if it was better? Or do this weeks previous meals need re-evaluating?

Also that sounds like a dangerous game you're playing with the chicken, although I don't cook meat myself so maybe I'm being over cautious.

binka please defrost your chicken properly.
I want to see more of your splendid meals
why was what i did improper? i cooked it for a bit in a frying pan (until it was soft all the way through) then took it out, thinly sliced it (chicken was pink all the way through) then returned to cook in the pan until none of it was pink anymore.

You should take it out the night before and stick it in the fridge.
It's not something you deal with on the night.
i dont really understand tbh. surely as long as its cooked it doesn't matter? im not the sort of person who would plan well enough to take meat out of the freezer the night before!

Pizza. I have no food in and ended up on two bread and cheese thing threads on two different sites all afternoon.

I'm sure I will regret it in the morning but have been studying all day and not really eaten properly for about three.

I was going to have spaghetti bolognese but I ended up with half a packet of Marks and Spencer's almond biscuits. They're easily the most splendid thing I've discovered in recent times.

Fishcakes which I think were smoked haddock and I wasn't sure I liked on first tasting but were actually really need, boiled/fryed charlotte potatoes, and a green salad. All rather healthy til I got to the banoffee pie. Pink wine. :)

Well my afternoon nap sort of stretched a bit longer than I anticipated and I woke up at 7.30. Chicken tomorrow now and some veg ramen type thing tonight

Biggest pork chop I have ever seen with mini roast potatoes (I cut it in half to have the rest for lunch tomorrow!) Greek girl where I live cooked it for me, they're amazing in size and from Dombeys in Brixton apparently.

Dombeys ftw  They're fucking ace :)

Was supposed to be ham and mushroom risotto tonight, but ended up being dim sum as was a late one due to work. It was ok :/ I would have preferred risotto but it was late and I was lazy.
