What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Pork, celery, and pak choi in cider & ham stock with parmentier potatoes.

More of the chicken madras I made last night. I ended up bunging a few spuds in it as it bubbled away. Really very nice. Got enough for tomorrow night too.

I recently got a new cooker and finally have a working grill again, so it's cheese on toast with salami slices.

We had a pot noodle, we should probably eat something sensible that isn't the last two jam doughnuts.

Maybe avocado on toast.

The in laws came round with M&S dine in meals so we had seafood casserole, potatoes, chips, carrot, green beans and butternut. Pudding was Tiramisu followed by strawberry and rhubarb pie with cream.

Some kind of tomatoey spaghetti. Arrived late to lunchtime barbecue and missed most of the meat :( hence we are both hungry, but also lazy.

Sausage and vegetable (aubergine, mushroom, tomato, onion) casserole. To be served over couscous.

Roasted red peppers stuffed with feta, garlic and chopped black olives. Am considering either saffron rice, or maybe frying some onions in butter, then warming boiled rice in that, and sprinkling with toasted pine nuts. Or maybe frying the onions in walnut oil, and tossing the rice in that (and finishing with the pine nuts).

Can't decide yet.

Skint too, so am gonna make some chocolate buttercream icing to go on top of the boring plain digestives we've got.

Only three more nights in China.

Tonight is canteen for tea. Tomorrow is buffet restaurant tea. Wednesday is probably Tom Yum soup. Thursday is whatever is available at the airport, or scary aeroplane tea.

Tonight I am making chicken, chorizo, bean and pepper stew for the flat... Yer vegginess hasn't really worked bit Im eating A LOT less meat.

Hot dogs
Or salad

I've got some smoked herring that needs eating, so that with sauteed veg (I've got mushrooms, courgettes, red and yellow peppers) and an avocado.

Ooo just remembered, I made Moroccan meatballs yesterday using veggie meatballs. Just bunged all the spices in the pan with the onion and simmered them for ages....NOM!

Mmmm good idea. We always have our veggie meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti but a tagine type sauce would go really well with them.

squid in chinkiang and ginger sauce with stirfried veg and noodles. and I got some haricot beans and broad beans soaking so I can do a chorizo and bean stew and a bessari tomorrow
