What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I found some ancient dried chickpeas in our cupboard we bought in Tuscany on our honeymoon back in 2008. So I soaked them overnight and put them with some diced pork shoulder, tomatoes, smoked paprika and harissa, put it in the oven on low for 4 hours and it's pretty nice now.

Awww that's really lovely. Honeymoon dinner :)

Bloody hell, that's a bit of an emergency

Bolognese pasta bake is in the oven.
I found two small cloves of garlic (nowhere near enough) but it tasted pretty good before it went in to the oven and has a an extra fuck tonne of cheese to make up for lack of garlic :)

kittyP Tbf, my two favourite people shun garlic (WTF?!  ) but it's defo still possible to knock up a tasty sauce without!

(One of them wouldn't even have the CHEESE either! :D )

The pasts bake was fucking lush!
Didn't really miss the extra garlic I would normally use. It was very tasty.

I'm having 2 beef burgers with fried onions and gherkins served on brioche burger rolls. I imagine mustard and tomato sauce will feature somewhere also.

I'm making a chicken madras and pilau rice tonight. Lots of lime pickle to go with it. Could do with a naan really.

I love lime pickle but not as keen on how it looks. My mind sees crushed bones!

Tonight we are using a extra mild Old El Paso fajita kit as have BFs son. Having them with quorn chunks, grated cheddar, sour cream, salsa, gaucamole, tomtatoes & peppers. We will spice ours up with jalopeno peppers.

Lime pickle looks like festering dead stuff to me which I expect to by how it looks to be crunchy becuase of the bones. I do really love lime pickle though and always ask for it when in Indian resturants.

We've been for Japanese in town for someone's birthday. We had:

Sliced raw horse. Loads of sashimi. Those omelette roll things. Fermented soya beans. Edamame beans. A big lump of tofu. Sliced, grilled aubergine. Eel sushi.

Rather unwell so lazy freezer tea time - spicy wedges, breaded mushrooms, quorn spicy breaded pieces. Total comfort food.Gonna wash it down with a glass of grated ginger and lemon.

It sounds proper lush, shame it wasn't so nice. :(
It might have been the fact the crab was frozen... Or the chilli too mild... Or my taste buds to well doused in red wine... Who's knows?!

Tonight's dinner was much much better: herby lamb burgers in white buns with watercress and beet root mayo with rustic chips. Made even better as we are tiddler free this eve so I didn't have to share my food then dodge it as its flung back at me :D

Whatever is less than 3.15 in the shop, as I've lost my debit card and can't get more cash til the banks open tomorrow.
