What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Bruchetta(sp?), asparagus in parma ham with pea shoots and a sauce, sweet potato and chicken supreme(another sauce, peppers and caper berries(?) followed by belgian chocolate ganache in a caramel sauce with creme fraiche and honeycomb. Then homemade tablet
I won a prize at the farmers market. A lovely chef came to my daughters and cooked the above for us :)
Daughter has tagged me in fb photos so friends can see what we had :) If you're interested.

ACE WIN, gem!!!!

Stir-fried / braised onion, white cabbage, tomatoes, pointy pepper, mushrooms, with yesterday's baked potato cubed and separately fried with shoyu.
Served with alfalfa and radish sprouts and tahini.

This is my standard evening meal these days.

One day I hope to be growing all the ingredients myself.

We didn't go for curry in the end last night so we went to the import supermarket and splashed out on some frozen fish fillets in breadcrumbs which I made a creamy sauce for, with dill in and some sauteed veggies, plus a load of spinach steamed with garlic and some buckwheat noodles.

Tonight I'm going to do mung bean falafel and mung bean hummus, brown rice, roasted veggies and a salad.

I had Special Ho Fun last night.

And the meal wasn't bad either.

had yaki udon, and a platter of deep fried starters at Fujiyama (Brixton). that place has gone down hill, like the standard street fare you'd get in Camden...

X2 quarter pounder beef burgers in granary breadcake. One with fried onions and tomato sauce, the other with melted mature cheg and hot pepper sauce.

Didn't touch the sides

More or less the same risotto as last night, but using chicken instead of tuna.

I'm doing a roast today....chicken, roast potatoes, yorkshires, peas, tenderstem broc, bread sauce and gravy and I've finally got all the ingredients to make some lemon frangipane muffins to have for pudding too (warm with some clotted cream ice cream)

The only trouble is that I have the hangover from hell  :( so as much as I know I'll feel very much better for eating it, the *idea* of actually cooking it is a fucking challenge in itself :D

I want somebody else to do it! :(

Tbf, there's a chance that my son's going out to meet a friend and won't be back till much later so if that's the case I might just get a chinese and save the roast for tomorrow...although it'll be my first day back at work and I know I'll be knackered! :hmm:
BAH!

Aww sheo - I know how you feel, I was like that yesterday :D Managed to drink my way through it and made roasted peppers stuffed with feta and black olives, and had them with mixed salad and couscous, mmmmMMMM.

Today I'm toying with the idea of making an oven-baked porcini and thyme risotto. Weather's a bit stinky, and my belly needs filling

Going out for an Italian lunch, around 12 hours since I went out for an Italian dinner, so I would think tea will be some pepto-bismol in a dark room.

Chilli and cheesy jacket spuds.

I also have a hangover so have already eaten a cheapo tesco pizza with added pepperoni, peppers and parmesan.

So wrong at 11am but so good.

This has been a bad food weekend for us. Takeaway curry Friday, popcorn and Toby carvery with the outlaws yesterday, carb mountain today.
: o

Pizza for breakfast

My son's not meeting his friend till three and they're having a Maccy D's...so there's really not much point in me doing the roast today!

Hmmmmm....chinese or freezer food?!? :hmm:

Have chinese for me, sheo.

Home made burgers. I have been dreaming about burgers. beef, cheese, lettuce, relish, gherkin, bacon, onion.

I'm having two. so I'm not having chips or battered onion rings with burger or poached eggs on cheese and onion muffins for breakfast. :( but burgers :):)

Roast guinea fowl (reduced from M&S), roast potatoes, braised leeks and peas, polenta & pancetta stuffing then James Martin's lemon curd butterfly buns for afters

Well I might not be doing the roast but the lemon muffins are in the oven  (forced myself to do em now so my son can have one before he goes out) and I've even made a lemon drizzle icing to go on them too

And wufty, I reckon you've twisted my arm!

I've just emptied the fridge before going shopping tomorrow. I was hoping I had the makings of a decent Sunday roast but I was wrong. Anyhow, I had sausages spuds green beans and carrots with gravy. Not really what I was after tbh but it did the job. If I don't go shopping tomorrow, tea will be onions with marmite.

A roast here with what we have in: so roast potatoes, carrots, broc, baked onion & mushrooms all from our veg delivery. From the freezer is one portion of nut roast we will share with veggie sausages. There may be yorkies too but TBH I'm not that keen on them!

Singapore Noodles. The only palatable thing from the rank Chinese take-away.

Sunday Dinner for one just feels so lonely :D

slow roast having leg of lamb studded with Rosemary & anchovies and a garlic & mint rub. 5 hours in smells incredible

We had various home made curry type items that were in the freezer from the last time I did massive potfuls of the stuff - fish madras, bombay potato, tarka dhal, and I did some pilau rice to go with it. Bloody lush.
