What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We're all travelling for at least an hour to get into town to have curry at the only curry house in town for tea, even though we all know it's shit. :D

There's been talk of halloumi in work (my daughter, no fucker else ha), so we're having fried halloumi toneet, with a mixed salad, lemon and coriander couscous, and lashings of wine

I need it - I've spent the last few days arguing fucking nonstop with pro-Thatcher cunts, and people who I thought knew better trying to tell me that I am undignified for wanting to celebrate the cunt's death. Fuck OFF arrgghhhh :mad:

Oooh they sound lush. Where did you get them from?

Hope your headache is banished soon x

Thank you, lovely! Tablets shifted it, no prob...in time to enjoy my dinner (plus six packets of Ringo's  :D ).

The fishcakes were from Tesco (on half price, OBV!)...they are nice but the fish to potato ratio is a bit mean (considering they're 'Finest' ones) and most of the parsley butter had leaked out of mine  (my son offered to have that one  but I said no...FOOL!).

I'd still buy em again for £1.50, tbf! :D

We went to the posh sausage shop today after swimming and the park and my son chose one pork and apple and one smokey bacon and maple syrup...I went for a wild boar and apple and a pork and stilton.

I was going to do them with mash, onion gravy and peas...but by the time we'd got back and then dropped my daughter and her friend off I was too knackered, so I brought a battered sausage and chips back for my son and I'm going to have the last bit of asparagus soup and some moroccan hummus and toasted wholemeal pitta bread.

Having a beer first, although I think I'm too tired to DRINK even  :D

Will do the sausage and mash tomorrow for sure, though

What flavour ringp's sheothebudworths . I reckon they would rank a reasonably in my top 10 crisps easily. Not easy to come by though much like the lesser seen Flaming Hot Wotsits that I also adore..

I have just ordered a curry delivery to come a few streets away as my BF is claiming he is too pooped to drive there, have a pint & come back! I need to shower as we are meant to be out by 9.30pm.

I ordered paneer karahai, mixed Indian veg bhuna (instead of potatoes, carrorts etc it's aubergine, okra, chick peas) with X2 roti and 1 boiled rice. Comes to £10.85. Have a few cans of Stowford Press cider that I won't be sharing with my BF (alright I probably will!)

CHEESE AND ONION, of course!

They're not the same as they used to be :( wrong texture (not *smooth* enough :hmm: ) but the flavour is the same (so therefore I will still eat a whole multipack in one go   )....

...I've still got more in the cupboard, tbf.... :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Yes, but what kind?
Ajwain seeds, finely chopped garlic, cumin seeds, chopped celery, and a lump of frozen ginger gently fried in olive oil. Rice added. Herbes de provence added. Water added. Cook as usual. About 15 mins before the end, add frozen green beans. About 2 minute before the end drain a tin of tuna steak and gently stir that in without breaking it up too much.

Season to taste. What with? Coarsely ground mixed peppercorns and dark soy sauce.

S&v are where it's at for me with Ringo's but then I am a HUGE S&V fan. But Ringo's are amongst the few in the crisp world where I actually really like the cheese & onion. The other notable exception are cheese & onion squares.

How entirely predictable, but it wasn't made for you; it was made for somebody with fully functioning tastebuds who's trying to get used to solid food after a week of more irritable than usual IBS. And he liked it. :p

Bruchetta(sp?), asparagus in parma ham with pea shoots and a sauce, sweet potato and chicken supreme(another sauce, peppers and caper berries(?) followed by belgian chocolate ganache in a caramel sauce with creme fraiche and honeycomb. Then homemade tablet
I won a prize at the farmers market. A lovely chef came to my daughters and cooked the above for us :)
Daughter has tagged me in fb photos so friends can see what we had :) If you're interested.

I made mushroom and leek pie (mushrooms, leek, garlic, in a roux-based cream sauce, shortcrust pastry, served with roast spuds, all done from scratch) at the same time as fixing my PC (put off from Thursday, 'cos I was really tired and didn't feel great) which involved fixing the CPU fan, and installing a new DVD drive and 2 new Hard Drives (one of them an SSD), and reinstalling the OS and a shitload of other software.

Dinner was delicious, my PC works, and I feel fairly satisfied with the result of a hectic evening of work.
