What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Last night i had chips and onion rings in the winchester plus a load of vod.
Tonight we're going cinema so tea will be minstrels, popcorn, salty of course, and fizzy orange.

Mmm snackings was nice but im still hungry... I need a proper dinner. Maybe I could order a kebab? I'm a shit veggie. Maybe I should give up :(

I forgot to post what we had at last night's banquet, and I'm sure you're all dying to know. :hmm:

Shredded cabbage with prawns and coriander dressing, sliced preserved pig's ear, beef and tomato soup, deep fried slices of sweet potato in batter, sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken, chicken wings cooked in coca cola and soy bean paste, fried rice, steamed peking cabbages in a light sauce with mince, broiled beef and chestnuts, pork and chive dumplings, Chinese doughnuts with red bean filling. And other stuff which I've forgotten as it arrived after I got drunk.

Tuesday - I can't remember :hmm: ETA...I know there were homemade paprika/thyme wedges and an enormous pile of asparagus but I CANNOT remember what we had as the *main* bit of it! I'm going to have to get the kids to tell me or it's going to drive me mental now...wtf?!

Weds - burnt pizza

Thursday - mini pork roast, yorkshires, asparagus, green beans, tenderstem broc and gravy...then a DISASTER PIE* and some fucking delicious posh creamy madagascan vanilla custard (half price offer etc).

Yesterday - the kids had half a Southern chicken fillet each, some cod fish fingers, chips and asparagus/broc and peas for the boy...and I had giant scampi, chips and peas. Coffee and walnut cake for pudding.

Today - I've got a gigantic ham on the bone coming with my delivery (half price blah blah :D ) so I might do that with roast potatoes and lots of veg OR I might save that for tomorrow and get us a chinese.....not sure yet :hmm:

*my mum bought a frozen Aunt Bessies apple pie, then let it defrost overnight in her fridge, then trundled it down to here in her wheely case so it was FUCKED by the time she got it out, lol.
She's from the olden days so it hadn't occurred to her that the stuff you buy in the frozen cabinet is generally COOKED from frozen, too
The whole pastry top was in bits and all of the filling had slid out into the box :D so I had to shovel the filling back in then prod bits of broken pastry over the top...it was a right fucking mess :( ...but tbf, it tasted quite nice! :D

Not sure what I'm having tonight... I've got a yucky cough that doesn't want to stop. So prob just a soup or something. If i can be bothered ill do a home made one smokey veg and bean or something. If not one of the cartony ones from the supermarket x

A 100g bar of Green and Black's 60% cocoa dark chocolate and Yorkshire burnt toffee. I love special offers. Oh and a huge plate of cabbage greens.

Forgot that I'd ordered a selection of fresh rolls...and the ham leg is already cooked...so no cooking was necessary  (didn't really fancy a chinese  ) so we've just had tiger bread/ciabatta/multigrain rolls with a ton of the ham, mustard and mayo, cucumber, cress, baby plum tomatoes and olives.

I've got a couple of creme brulees that need to be eaten so so we'll have those for pudding (although that does involve using the grill....grrrrr  ) but first I'm going to make a cup of tea and then lie in my bed and stare out of the window for a while :hmm:

Just done our monthly shop which was hell, so easy dinner tonight.

Chicken breasts with a tomatoey sauce and cheesy crust from the tramps buffet with roasted veg (from a bag) and chunky oven chips.

Made a lasagne yesterday. I didn't have any proper tomato lasagne sauce and couldn't be bothered to go to shop, so I put a jar of chile con carne sauce in with the mince. Not a good idea but was edible. I froze two portions and had the fourth portion tonight with some garlic bread. Tasted better tonight fortunately.

So today was rib eye steak. Rosemary potatoes, Chinese leaf and spring onion with balsamic vinegar and wholegrain mustard. Lovely red wine and vodka & tonic.

Fucking hell that cartony soup can be right bland shite... I added a load of chilli flakes, sea salt and corriander to give it a bit of zing...

I think I'm going to make pea and ham soup*...with the rest of the rolls to go with it.

Some half price *ultimate* NY cheesecake for pudding.

*except it'll be called vegetable and ham soup because my daughter doesn't like peas :hmm: :p
