What's for tea tonight? (#8)

My daughter's friend is coming on Weds instead of today and my son had an after school meeting thing which meant he was in much later, so I'm saving the pizza for Weds and instead they had ketchup/ham/melty cheese on toast (so errrrrr....like pizza, but not pizza :hmm: ) with baby plum tomatoes and I had a leftover bit of tandoori chicken.
I was going to have a tiny bit of his cheese on toast, too...but he went and dropped some of his on the floor  so I gave him my bit back.

Also  Tesco didn't have any cheesecakes* left :( so they've had Yorkie chocolate mousses for pudding and I've broken into a packet of Jaffa Cakes.

*Or either of the multibags of crisps I ordered! Shitting hell!

Sheo your dinners are always such a pleasure to read :)

Mung bean falafel, roasted veggies and brown rice salad for tea tonight. :)
how do you make mung bean falafel? I am about to embark on my first ever home falafel making using conventional chickpeas but I'm interested in other alternatives! I was pondering buying some mung beans just yesterday to make a specific dish, but I was like, I'll *never* use the the rest of them.... but maybe if falafels are a possibility it could be a go-er :D

I just boil some mung beans for about 40 mins, or until they're soft, no need to blend as they come out quite mushy so I strain them in a seive then blend corriander and garlic before adding to the mung beans. Maybe add some sesame seeds if I fancy it, mix it all together with a fork then stick outside until the mixture's cold. Roll into little balls and bake for 30 mins. :) It makes good hummus too. Or if you soak the beans over night then blend them without cooking you can use to paste to make Bindaetteok, which are Korean mung bean pancakes.

AWESOME! thanks :)

Mmmm, fava/broad beans, reckon we'll be having some middle eastern veggie delights tomorrow night now :)

Tonight is a baked spud night.

God that sounds great.

It was alright...would have been better had it not been made with really greasy supermarket mince. I get all our meat from the local butchers now but these were hanging around in the freezer from the last lot of orrible mince and they let the meal down a bit. Sauce was lovely though, plus I made a carrot salad to go with it that was quite nice.

God knows what's happening tonight. I have got some shitty chest infection virus thing and feel like arse. Just in time for the school holidays, again  So not really hungry, just want to go to bed.

Bacon, egg, mash and beans. Eggs on top of the mash so the eggy goodness can mingle with the mashy goodness in an orgasm of eggymashy goodness.

I don't know why I have never considered that combination of mash and egg, but by god it might work.
The beans have to stay away from the eggymash though!

I've been on holiday for the last weak and eaten little else but meat, meat, bread, cheese, meat, meat, bread and beer.
I feel a bit wrong.

Tonight's dinner will attempt to redress the balance -- roasted veg (broccoli, red onion, yellow and red peppers, and little mushrooms) with chickpeas served over some couscous, with some sliced avocado on the side.
