What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I'm having colcannon for the first time tonight. That's the side to some steak, carrots and beans but that's the bit I'm most excited about.
I am putting this on my meal list for next week, pretty sure there's some steak hiding in the freezer.

Chicken/veg/noodle soup then a bit of raspberry crumble cake which I took out of the freezer (NO MORE CAKE in there now! ) warmed up, with some vanilla yoghurt.

Jacket spuds and something, perhaps some breaded fish from the freezer.
Meh :(
My fault for not planning anything else I suppose.

Had steak last night with rice and a Turkish side dish consisting of sweet peppers, onion, tomato, mushrooms, aubergine and basil.

Tonight I'll be making a chicken pasta with mostly the same ingredients.

Last two nights we've had fish pie. I only had salmon steaks and prawns, wasn't sure it would work but turned out to be the best one I've made. The combination of the salmon & prawns with the layer of sliced boiled eggs, creamy mash a side of roast asparagus was one of the best food combinations I've had.

Tonight is baked spuds, cheeze, beans & coleslaw. And t'umping bass.

Dunno yet..

I fancy macaroni cheese after reading the thread here. I ain't had it since I was a kid. However if Mrs Jones is about there's no chance of that, as she won't entertain the idea of cooked cheese. So it may be the haddock that's hiding in the freezer with a red pepper sauce and some rosti's

Pesto spaghetti I think. Skiiiint. Got two tubs of passata int cupboard though so think I'm gonna make a Tuscan bean and tomato soup tomorrow!

He had tomatoes?

Edit: just read up thread... exciting :)

Heading out to yoga in a bit so bacon and mushroom sarnie when I get home.

How did the tomatoes go with the fella, crusty?

Tomato-based experiment deemed a success so far! we're not going to be gorging on arabiatta sauce or tomato soup, but it turns out that a bit of tomato in a stew or something does not kill him - hooooray!!!

 I'm more pleased than I ought to be, given I don't know you from Adam, and this is solely about eating tomatoes :D:D

Hurrrayyy!!! A whole new/old world of scran!

Crusty- the world is now your oyster... Or tomato :D

I have a Kashmiri butter chicken curry in the slow cooker and the whole house smells lush.
Will have it with some basmati rice and broccoli as I feel we need something vegetables too

The fella's out doing life modelling tonight, and I found some salmon fishcakes in the reduced section of the Co Op, so them, with chups, and peas...mmmmmmmmmm I fucking LOVE fishcakes

I'm going to make a big tray of roasted veg (bell peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, tomatoes.) I've got some leftover lentil and carrot soup I made yesterday so will probably have them together.

Yeah, this :D

I'm really happy for you crustychick.

Just as I'm sure you'll all be happy to hear that the boy has decided my mash is edibile (unlike school mash) and he will now eat it.
Sausage and mash tomorrow

Supposed to be making a veggie pie tonight. Sweet potatoes, leeks, spinach, turnip, onion and mushrooms with humous and creme freche. Served with wine! :) Hope the boy who is coming round doesn't vomit...

Hell of a day at work, so I've only just got in. Tea was a Mars bar on the walk home and pud is now a dirty great glass of wine.

Tramp's Buffet Breaded Chicken envelopes
Some sort of cheesy mash thing with cream and breadcrumbs, all mixed up and shoved in the oven

That has made me feel like a distrusting pig :D

I had cheesy chips with a dipping bowl of mayo mixed with sweet chilli sauce.

Well, it's badgers fault! I was going to cook us something healthyish but he went to bed :D

Comfort food for VTL and DMM as they are unlikely to finish work and get home before about 5am. It's also going to be another very cold night crossing London on a night bus so quickly heated in the microwave comfort food is what is required.

Potatoes in an onion sauce augmented with peas and the last bit of Speck from my trip to Germany.
The onion sauce was loads of onions sweated in butter till melty, then I stirred in milk and cornflour, then added cooked peas and poured over the spuds, which were boiled in their skins then sliced. The crispy bacony bits then sprinkled on the top.
