What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We had veggie fajitas with quorn & veg & stuff. I found a 'family friendly' El Paso box which I bought to try with BFs son which were a success. Last time I made them he drank a few pints of water just to eat one. Tonight he happily scoffed 2 and we just added jalopenos to ours..

One of them is working on the bar for the Brits after-party...then at least an hour clearing up after they've gone, then a long journey home on the night bus back to Brixton...he'll be too tired to cook. In my experience they'll be too cream-crackered to do anything but put a plate in the microwave...plus I cook supper every night anyway, so I may as well make enough for the whole household. Plus I am definitely the best cook.

I had to get my own tea as soon as I was capable of getting it, bar the odd family meal.
My mum had just been diagnosed with MS though.

Tuscan bean and tomato soup mmmMMM

Don't have a tin of tomatoes but I DO have a tub of passata. So that, veg stock, black eyed beans, courgette, celery, onions, garlic, loads of fresh rosemary, couple of handfuls of farfalline to minestrone it up a bit, and some ciabatta if I can find any

Hmmm...might put some spinach in it too actually...not done that before but thinking about it, my body's going 'YEEHHHHH SPINACH!!' :D

You probably won't really notice it cooked down in all that lot tbh. Unless you add it right at the end just to wilt it..
Course I'll notice it  I don't get what you've just said at all. There'll be a load of spinach in it - you can see it, taste it.

I love spinach so I don't know. :p

Are you talking frozen, canned or fresh spinach? Putting it in at beginning, middle or end?

Fresh around about the middle. It will be in with the other flavours, but I will still be able to taste it, know it's there, see it's there, benefit from it being there

You might not be able to really distinguish it visually from all the other ingredients if you add it fresh in the middle. It melts down to virtually nothing.
I don't think you will be able to distinguish the flavour from the other stuff you have listed.
You will get the benefit of the vitamins etc.

I would add at the end but that's because I love spinach and want to be able to taste, see, etc it.

No it doesn't melt down to nothing! Again - wtf??

Really,we will have to agree to disagree on every single point you make here kitty and I never would have thought I'd get worked up about a discussion on spinach but I am :D

My BODY will feel it, will know the nutrition, it WANTS it, and I listen to what my body wants. It will look beautiful, and it will not taste the same as eating spinach on its own but it will still add to the flavours.
