What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Last night we had steak sarnies with oven chips and salad. Tonight will be braised pork in a roasted tomato and pepper and chipotle sauce with rice.

We went to the fancy but oddly reasonably priced hotel buffet for tea. I had:

All the prawns out of a big plate of salad.
All the beef curry
Beef goulash
Sushi
Salmon raw and in a teriyaki sort of sauce
One of those curly sausages like a snail
Ham/salami/olives/sun-dried tomatoes

Assorted puddings including a crepe, and some ice cream, and a small piece of cake, little creme brulees and little trifles.

*explodes*

Is it 'fucker of a week' week this week sheothebudworths?
I've had a bastard of a one

I reckon it must be BoatieBird ( <---did that even work? :hmm: I am a tagging virgin!)
Today actually got WORSE too :D ...we are now five staff down (out of ten :D )...had agency in for cover but obv they don't know what to do so it was all very chaotic :D ....enjoyable to a degree though cos we also have area managers covering for our actual manager (who is off with stress) so we've been having a good old lol watching them get all hot and sweaty (and on Monday we have the supreme cunt out of the lot of them...so I'm almost LOOKING FORWARDS to Monday hehehe! ;) :D )... :p

Anyway, fuck it...it's the weekend now eh?! PHEW!

Got my daughters friend over and and then another friends daughter for the night...so I'm slinging a load of pizzas in the oven and then leaving them to get on with it :D

Am ever so slightly worried cos the pizzas are coming with my delivery which is between 4-6...and my daughters friend has to leave at 6.30 so there is a risk that she won't be fed :hmm:   (and they're driving straight down to Bath after collecting her) but am thinking that worst ways I can give her some slices to take in the car (bet they'll thank me for that when there's cheese and tomato sauce slopped all over the place :D ).....

And I brought home four 'toffee crunch' pots from work for their pudding too...so, minimal effort evening *fingers crossed*

I want steak but we've not long done the monthly big shop so i dont think i can justify buying more. Something with chorizo i reckon x

It sort of worked sheothebudworths, as in BoatieBird appeared in blue in your post, but I didn't get a tagging notification.
I think it's because you quoted me in the same post

Anyway... yes, thank fuck it's Friday

Camembert with sesame / poppyseed crackers.
Small can of Aldi's finest calamari in tomato sauce.
Port Salut and crackers.
Cotes du Rhone Plan de Dieu.
Hopefully I'll go and cook up some red onions, peppers, tomatoes and Chinese cabbage in a bit.

Tom Yum soup and buckwheat noodles. I have managed to pick something from the part of Asia which isn't celebrating New Year's Eve today.:oops::D

^^^

Oooh! We just happen to be going for a chinese in town today! :D
Have my friend's daughter with us, so first I'm going to cart them all round town picking up all the last minute bits for my son's skiing trip...and then I'm going to repay them for NOT FUCKING MOANING ABOUT IT  by getting them a noodle soup/noodle or rice dish each and a tin of cream soda (which is always the highlight of the visit for them  ).
I am going to have roast pork and roast duck noodle soup...can't WAIT!

Thank you Yu-Gi....and to you, too!!!
How will you be celebrating then?

We will go downstairs and watch everyone let their fireworks off at midnight! We have bought some sparklers so we look less voyeuristic. They'd better have splashed out on good ones this year!

I had a Chinese last night so have celebrated New Year accidentally. Tonight I'm thinking of making a beef casserole that'll last a few days and having mash with it.

The best way.

Something dead simple. Probably bread & cheese and fruit or summat.

It's tomorrow that I'm preparing for now. Remembered I'd still got a joint of very nice boiling bacon in the freezer so I hoicked it out and it's defrosting as I type, in medium dry Somerset cider with a bay leaf, peppercorns, cloves, slices of fresh ginger and juniper berries which, when I put a skewer through the meat to check it's thawed right through will simmer away gently.

Tomorrow I will shred red cabbage and cook it with onion and a bit of caraway and grate in a Bramley apple. I will sweat chopped leeks in butter and throw them in when I mash the spuds. I'll make some sort of sauce I daresay and maybe a plate of very crunchy stuffing balls as well.

Broccoleeky cheese with pasta in it.
I'm going to make this sometime soon, because although the name is amazing it sounds such a good combo...I'm going to try it using that Greek pasta shaped like fat grains of rice. That pasta works well mixed with chunky veg in a sauce.

Last night we had taco salad, yummmm so good, Americans have some good food. Spicy mince meat, corn chips, cherry tomatoes, spinach leaves, lettuce, onion and spicy sauce.
