What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I was going to make turkey burgers but my daughter's off ice skating with a friend and they'll prob feed her and my son is probably going out to meet his friend at the PIE SHOP :D  so I might just have beans on toast

Sunday afternoon hungover cooking therapy.

I'm cooking for everyone, but the kids have already left for a camp out at the hot springs. I cook anyway. Fish soup (seperate pan without fish for the fucking hippies).

Finely chop garlic, ginger and onions. Soften in olive oil. Add finely chopped carrots, coriander and fresh garden peas. Simmer gentley for a couple of hours. Pour in water. Oregano, parsley and very finely chopped lemon zest. Keep adding fresh coriander.

More water. Lightly fry haddock fillets in olive oil. 5 minutes either side.

Place the fish in the soup. I now have Two different pans. One with fish, the other without.

Simmer for as long as. Serve with fresh bread and a finely chopped Mexican salad (onion, cucumber, garlic, chili, apple, peppers, bit of green stuff - lemon juice and olive oil).

This will go down well. I like cooking therapy.

I have all the ingredients for lasagne, except the pasta. So I'm going to make some lasagne sheets. Apparently in my head that's less effort than going to the shop

I am in Stokey so I am going to find some ridiculous pesto in Whole Foods and pair it up with vegetables and a bit of pasta

I need to cook enough stuff in one go for lunch/dinner tomorrow, so can't do take out....but I'll check out YumYum soon!

We've just had roast chicken, roast pots, veg & gravy.
I made my own yorkshire pud today too.
I normally use the frozen ones , but I didn't have any so made my own.
It was a fluffy, crispy, tasty marvel which has left me wondering why I started buying the frozen ones in the first place

Pearl Barley and mushroom risotto then beetroot and chocolate cake with cream.
Yum! I'd like this please!
We has baked salmon and prawns with rice and broccoli for the toddler and other half (my other half, not the toddlers!) and I had puy lentils instead of broccoli.
Completely empty fridge and half empty freezer hence weird dinner. Tesco delivery should be here any minute now though and afterwards I shall not resemble mother Hubbard.

For afters, we had a pancake with stewed rhubarb and stem ginger in it, topped with rose syrup. It was IMMENSE.
