What's for tea tonight? (#8)

It's good to keep that (proper cooking) up when (if) you're on your tod. When I lived alone I ate all kinds of rubbish. Depression, probably.

Time to get happy now. Bring me onions! :D

Had some of my knives sharpened by a nice lady by Clapham Common a few days back - after 15 years or so they thoroughly deserved a bit of a regrind - and they're now beautifully paper-cuttingly sharp again. Giving them a final strop tonight and then will be having a little fun preparing a stir fry with the assorted veg ends and some pork tenderloin in the fridge. A fair bit of thai basil has survived the slug onslaught, so I reckon that and the first chillies of the season will be involved. The other half's out and I'm strangely looking forward to an easy one wok (and perhaps rice cooker) meal. Stir fries do work much better when there's not much food clogging up the wok and bringing the temperature down.

Just me and my son here so I've hoicked a steak out of the freezer and we're having it with mushrooms, tomatoes and probably potato wedges.

Sausage, mash, peas, green beans. Yoghurt.

Yesterday was a green veg laden stir fry in an attempt to undo the effects of tartiflette :D

Tin? What kind of madness is this?

Anyway, we're having mushroom risottoey thing but made with Orzo, and a salad. And strawberries.
*Bof* if tinned daupinoise spuds are good enough for the French, they're good enough for me.

Tonight: A marked down salad bowl for me, and fishfinger sarnies for VP.

Due to a mixture of fed-upness, feeling ill-ness and general unsettled-ness I couldn't be arsed to eat properly so instead have had some pineapple slices, a packet of hula hoops, two slices of toast and a pint of IPA

I didn't know you could get it in a tin! *scours supermarket shelves*
Lidl usually sell them tinned during their French week (once or twice a year) or chilled the rest of the year. Failing that, you can buy online or from areas with a lot of French expats.

Better to eat what you can face than nothing at all.

Something really low fat, probably white fish and veg..meh. :(

Though i do have a packet of winegums for pud. :)

Just me tonight  and I've bought a couple of frozen veg ready meals from Sainsbo's....a spinach and mushroom lasagne and an aubergine and lentil bake, so one of those with some broccoli.

Tesco's finest bacon and gruyere quiche!! With ready-to-nuke new pots with mint!!! from tesco, for a quid. And tesco mixed salad.I fucking hate tesco, usually.

Disappointing dinners are the worst, my condolences Sheo :(

I've made 3 pizzas: all have a Red onion, garlic, red pepper and chilli passata one has salami, one red pepper and one a few slices of reblochon all topped with a little grated cheddar and mozzarella.
Shandy and choc ice for pud.

Salad bowl from the supermarket with French dressing, followed by some sushi.
Hoping to resist the call of the Port Salut ...

A warm salad of roasted beetroot, broad beans, new potatoes and baby leaves with feta and pine nuts.
It tasted great and looked very posh but the best thing was that everything apart from the cheese and nuts was picked from the allotment this afternoon
