What's for tea tonight? (#8)

OMG, OU...proper *heart attack on a plate* food....but so SO GOOOOOOOOOD :D  :D

We're having dinner from the freezer tonight...breaded haddock, oven chips and broccoli. Might dig out some ice cream for pudding, too.

Besan (sort of a crustless quiche made with chickpea flour) and something.

This again. It was supposed to feed six, but, being greedy, I planned on it making four meals out of it, though, being a greedy fat pig, I ate half of it last night. I shall eat the other half tonight no doubt.
I may have to add this to my seduction repertoire. I think it might work.

There's some well impressive food going on here. Very nice indeed

Tonight I will be slaving over a massive lamb goulash. One of my better dishes. For all this effort I will be rewarded with endless SWP talk (better half is going to Marxism this weekend). Oh deep joy. There's always the wine, I suppose.

OU *droool* thats looks so good!

I have been trying to perfect a sticky chicken wings recipe, well today i just randomly chucked some stuff together in the hope it would be good but it was a bit of a disappointment, will go back to the ainsley harriot original :( unless anyone ehere has a recipe i can try?

Tartiflette - but I ate it all last night cos it was so tasty, so will have to make it again.
Though mebbe not if I can't find any Reblochon in West Norwood

I'd never had it before the lovely Biddly Bee made it for us and it was seriously one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten!!

There were amazing looking prawns in the bags of delicious foods and drinks my mum brought for me.
I think I shall indulge while the boy is out.

So.

French stick filled with big fuck off prawns, watercress and lambs leaf salad and mayo :D

today I did pot roast beef (using blade) with roast new spuds, green beans and gravy

the beef has guinness as the liquid in the pan, which then made the gravy - fuck me is was amazing  will be doing that again!

Dark beer and beef always goes well together, also chicken and a pale ale works really well in a casserole.

I often do beef stew with guinness but I wouldn't have thought (though no idea why when I think about it :D) to put it in the pot roast!

the beer just adds an extra layer of richness to the subsequent gravy. A pint gets added to all casseroles/stews and pot roasts.

A pint of scrumpy also works well with a slow roasted pork shoulder, glazed with honey & parsely.
The pork sucks up the flavours of the cider and the remaining juices make for a wicked gravy / sauce base.

Cod and chips from the chippy.
2 pints of shandy and a hit chocolate with marshmallows on top.

One day later I still have serious Tartiflette envy.

Nothing because I have been out all day snacking on food stolen from other people's houses.

I am really enjoying the image of you as a stealth thief, mooms...breaking into peoples houses and stealing a selection of snacks from their kitchens until you are full and satisfied :D

ROAST for us today  chicken, homemeade yorkshires, roast potatoes, steamed cabbage, broccoli, gravy and bread sauce.

Eton Mess for pudding...made with strawberries and weight watchers thick cream.

I like that WW thick cream, it's a good substitute for double cream.

Curry here! Sort of tandoori chicken but with a creamy sauce, paratha (think that's the spelling!) stuffed with spicy potato, coconut chutney and rice. Followed by homemade chocolate ice cream

It is, isn't it...you'd think it'd be shite :D but the difference between the two is insignificant, pretty much (good news for CREAM FANS :D )!

Marty going to Suffolk reminded me that I had some smoked chorizo(ish) sausages in the freezer from our last Suffolk visit.
Chorizo(ish) because they're proper meaty sausages but chorizo flavours.

So we're having them for tea tonight with dauphinoise potatoes (frozen version from Aldi :hmm:), asparagus and broad beans
