What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I made an intensely wholesome soup the other day - smoked bacon lardons, loads of lentils, leeks, carrot, etc. and I am still working my way throught it. With all the Ryvita I can cram.

Pasta in the end. Bacon, onion, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, seasoning, little paprika and basil. Sauce is a bit thick but okay. Some grated cheese to top off.

Cor that sounds lovely boatie...like a corned beef hash pasty!
Funnily enough...after finding this morning that I'm starting to bulge over some jeans which were loose a couple of months ago...and deciding that today better be the day I rein it in a bit....my VERY NEXT THOUGHT was that I REALLY fancied some PIE   :D

Tell me about it sheo, I'm trying hard not to overeat at the moment as I've stopped smoking and I know I'll probably put a few pounds on.
So what's for dinner? Puff pastry with corned beef in it

I'll go for a brisk dog walk after dinner to counteract it.

Just me and the littluns tonight so baked spud & beans for the big one, a Babybel for the tiddler and leftovers for me of macaroni cheeese, Cumberland sausages & coleslaw

Someone gave me some chicken legs and thighs. I'll do something with them but not sure what yet. My daughter doesn't like chicken much so I have to disguise it as far as possible.

Who gave you some chicken legs and thighs? Just 'someone' gave you them? I have never been given some chicken legs and thighs before. Was it just someone in the street or what?

Mushroom stoup with dumplings - that lovely thing out of the River Cottage Veg Everyday book. We took a portion of it to Off The Tracks and it's easily the nicest easiest thing to take away frozen, let it defrost over a couple of days in the cooler, and warm up

But tonight it won't have been through all that, it's just freshly made :D

A friend who was going on holiday and very kindly gave me the contents of her fridge. As it was, when I was cooking them they smelt a bit dodgy. :(

So I got the kids a McDonalds.

It is with potato... I'll type it up for you tomorrow, it's scrawled on piece of paper and I'm plonked on the sofa with frozen broccoli on my knee :D
