What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Only if it's called casserole. I wouldn't be able to eat something called stew. Just the word makes me heave.

Aren't stews and casseroles different things?
A casserole baked in the oven and a stew simmered on the hob. A veggie stew tastes different to a veggie casserole ime. I think it's to do with the onions :)

Wow - veggie hotdogs, revelation! They taste just like normal hotdogs, but without the chicken lips and arseholes!! I am WELL impressed! The fella was beside himself cos he's not had hotdogs since being a kid (turned veggie when he was 16) and loved them (espesh with the boiled onions heh) :D:cool:

Hmmm...what to eat tonight? Maybe cheesy omelette and chips?
mmmmmmm... tell me more about the boiled onions - how does one emulate that street vendor taste?

My boy's back from Berlin

I asked what he ate because they had to sort out their own lunches....and I'd said he should try bratwurst but that they'd prob end up having McDonalds...he said NO WAY would he.......McDonalds x2   :D ...tbf, they were in shopping centre type places both those times and short of time...so everyone just piled into Maccy D's...but he did manage to get a bratwurst one day and the verdict was OMG DELICIOUS and they also went out for a meal and had pork schnitzel (and chips :D ) which he said was lovely, too, so he did taste a *little* of the local fayre, at least  AND he bought me back the remains  of a packet of German cheese and onion crisps, cos he knew I'd appreciate them :D (and despite me telling him not to get me anything...maybe just a bar ofc hocolate or something if he really wanted...he also got me a little model of the Reichstag which I now have to display on the mantlepiece :D ).

Anyway, with him in mind, I took a batch of steak and kidney hotpot and herb dumplings out of the freezer.....cue BOILING HOT DAY  but we're having it anyway, with broccoli and some peas, fresh from the garden.

Strawberry and cream yoghurts for pudding.

I've been eating leftover chinese all day, too

I'm kinda ill...neck injury/headache that is causing me to lie down so BF has had to go shopping which he is rubbish at. He never looks at dates/prices and always buys luxury items. He is cooking now and I'm upstairs resting..:hmm:

Do you really not look at dates at all? I eat food after the sell by / use by dates but when buying I want to purchase the lettuce/yoghurt/bread etc with the latest date possible.

Chicken thights marinated with Indian spices and yoghurt, prawns marinated with lime pickle and yoghurt, corn on the cob (not marinated) withchilli salt. Plus a tomato/cucumber/mango salad. With jelly for afters!

Last night we were meant to try Hestons chilli (our friends made it last weekend and it was lovely) but we got back from shopping at 9pm so had mcdonalds. : o

Today we were supposed to try Hestons chilli but we've been out all day, the dogs need bathing and we had about 4 days washing up to do. : o

So, we're having thin steak with griddled peppers, onion, garlic and mushrooms, rocket salad in ciabatta with a few chunky chips.

I'm quite excited but am fully aware that means chips 2 days in a row...

We'll have the chilli tomorrow when we'll have time to leave it for a couple of hours rather than rush it.

Feeling like shit. Not sure if wanting of the food or not :hmm:

I got a big jar of Napolina (sp?whtevs) pasta bake sauce in the pound shop :D  Garlic and tomato.
I am tempted coz it only needs sticking in a dish with some pasta and water and a fuck ton of cheese.

Hmmm comforting and soft but can I be arsed?

Yes, you can be arsed, it'll only take a couple of minutes to get it in the oven, and once you smell it cooking you'll definitely want to eat it :)

We've just had roast chicken, roasted new pots and salad.
Waiting for an apple pie come out of the oven and we'll have some of that with double cream

My plan to eat the above on the sofa whilst watching Raiders of the Lost Ark have been thwarted by the Wimbledon coverage

Boooo for the denial of Harrison Ford :(

I love the roast chicken with salad and new pots option when it's warm weather

In terms of the pasta bake, Badgers does not get home til about 10ish and it depends on if I fall asleep before it would be time to start it
