What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Having a huge plate of veggie cottage pie plus one of those microwave veg pots...the ones with the layered veg...I have never had one as not really had a microwave till now..:D

I think I will open a bottle of something too.

last night was ottolenghi's chilli & garlic broccoli with a whole heap of other roasted veg or steamed and chargrilled veg, with flaked almonds and couscous.

tonight is a meal out at the super cheap and cheerful Italian up the road. no buckets of wine for me tonight though as I've got a 5k race tomorrow :)

Yum! Asparagus for tea yesterday. First of the season so served simply - fried in butter, salt, pepper and few chilli flakes. Served with lemon juice and parmesan (actually a hard vegetarian parmesan style cheese).

More asparagus this evening. A friend picks it from a local farm so I after meeting I'll whisk them and their freshly picked stash off to my place before indulging! Think I'll probably serve it as part of a green salad (peas, beans, seeds etc).

I love asparagus - but I am one of those badly affected types so don't eat it anymore :(

Well, it's the daughter's final day at Uni today - deadline for all her work. She's worked her fucking socks off for the last 6 weeks - through into the night, getting up early etc, and my god she's pulled it off. I've had a good look through it all and am dead proud of her. So - on her request, and as the fella is out twatting about on a stage all weekend, tonight we eat chicken! Chicken madras, to be precise, using that Patak's paste - quality fucking stuff that

I shall also buy some onion bhajis cos she loves 'em, and a big gooey choccy cake :) Awwww. Can't bloody believe she's a) 21 and b) leaving fucking University!!

Soj- that time has flown by! Yay sojdaughter, anywhere we can see some of her photos?

Salmon for us tonight, with potatoes- bit bored of boiled/mash so maybe wedges? With petit pois.
More jubilee choc teas cakes andcolin caterpillars for pudding and some booze to take the edge off the mil :D

Gawd, tell me about it! She's all over the shop emotionally about it - hated big parts of the course, big problems with lecturers etc, but now it's the last day and she's all 'ohhhh shiiiit what do I do now?!'

The exhibition is in a gallery in Liverpool - I'm going to it, so might take photos of her photos and then put them up. With her permission of course!

Watermelon Daiquaris - if you can find a watermelon and have enough patience to hang around for it to nearly freeze.

A bit of pasta bake left from last night with toasted ciabatta, mozzarella and salsa. Slightly odd mix but alright.

Still got honeycomb ice cream as didn't have it last night so maybe that.

Boffffffff.

1 very large mango, 2 packs of raspberries, 1 pack of strawberries mixed up with 150mls of sweetened whipped cream on 200g of tuile.

And artichoke had a savoury dinner first.

E2a: Bweh, a lot of sugar in that. GnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAA

Last night was burgers (with a choice of toppings including cheese, raw onions, tomatoes and gherkins), and potato wedges.

I picked up a salmon wellington in Aldi yesterday and we're having that for tea with new potatoes and some kind of green veg.
