What's for tea tonight? (#8)

hot dogs and onions. want to do the onions like you get off street carts when you're waiting for the night bus. i presume they saute/simmer them in water, rather than just fry them?
Sojourner is the one to ask about onions to go with hot dogs.
I think she boils them.

I haven't given tonight's tea much thought yet - I shall see if inspiration strikes later.

No fucking IDEA!! Going the shops at 3 - dunno wtf I'm gonna buy
how do you do your onions, soj?

i had hot dogs and onions again. i boiled them then fried them :)

Had tea at my Mums last night - corned beef crispbakes (wtff?) with mashed potato and green beans. Possibly the nastiest thing I have ever eaten. Must have been from Iceland.

Curry delivery tonight, but have to do some complex work between 8 - 10pm so no Friday night boozing til after that. Body might go into shock.

Chicken, mushroom and leek pie with a mashed potato/parsnip & lemon top served with green beans and carrots.

we had a haircut party last night and had a frittatta of sweet potato, red onion, spinach and honey goats' cheese with a green salad and baguette. oh, and red wine. and it was simple but fab.

tonight I might make pizza as a treat for the boy as he can't usually eat pizza. probably with mushroom, artichokes, red onions and buffalo mozzarella.

Going through a bit of lazyitis at the moment - so gonna just have pasta and sauce toneet, with olives and a shit ton of parmesan

erm...eating in the office tonight before going to the ballet (i know - the two don't quite go together :D) So cold, left over tuna pasta, with wine that a colleague has hopefully remembered to bring in.
.

Takeaway!! We decided to have a non-diet treat tonight :)

Not sure what yet, pizza is winning at the moment but Indian is always a goer with fish and chips not far behind. However the latter means one of us...okay Mr. QofG's...will have to go out and get it whereas pizza and Indian are delivered so laziness may also factor :D

wow, 4.15 and I still haven't eaten that pasta! Although the 6 chocolate biscuits may have helped with that. Now just have to hold on til 6pm....

We don't have a lot in at the moment, but I managed to rustle up toad in the hole, chips, green beans, and gravy. Om nom nom etc. :D

Chicken pilaf. Turning into a firm favourite. Was a wee bit grainy, added a bit too much curry powder and not enough water methinks, but overall delicious.

I've spread a generous amount of english mustard on a couple of medium/thick slices of ham, and sprinkled capers on them. I've wrapped them around a couple of chicken breasts. Gonna stick them in the oven along with some frozen hash browns, and have with a bag of steamed courgettes, carrots, brocolli and green beans. Simple, reasonably healthy, and hopefully tasty.

Got the kids a battered sausage and chips last night and I had.......errrrrr......wine :hmm: and beer  and crisps.

I've taken a lump of cooked pork shoulder out of the freezer and I'm going to do a fried rice thing with it with onions/garlic/dwarf beans/peas (my daughter'll not thank me for that one but FUCK HER I'm putting the peas in! )/soy sauce.
We've got some lemon frangipane muffins we made yesterday for pudding, warm with some vanilla ice cream....*slurp*

Our tea should be sponsered by Heston Blumenthal as we are - trying - to follow 3 of his recipes
Rad cabbage gazpacho with mustard ice cream
Steak and blue cheese sauce with triple cooked chips and peas
Scone and butter pudding!
Whiskey (well Jack Daniels) wine gums

Caramelised red onion and pork sausages, caul & macaroni cheese, petit pois.
Not sure I can fit in a pudding but if I find room later either a lemon or choc mousse or a mini magnum or a hot choc or just some sleep....
