What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We were going out for a curry with a Groupon voucher but I just read that it excludes this day so we will have takeaway pizza after the flicks. Will save curry for Thursday.

Well that's the last fucking time I make gnocchi on a week night - takes way too friggin long  Lovely, mind.

Tonight and we're going for an easy-peasy chips/ale and mushroom pies/mushy peas/gravy combo, followed by yet another vanilla custard slice

I got the Waitrose £20 special - Salmon and watercress tartlets, sirloin steak, herbed roast potatoes, green veg in cream, Belgian chocolate sponge pudding, sparkling rose. Not sure how I'm going to eat all that mind, I might have to give Mrs R some.

Have manged to talk Mrs SFM out of cooking this evening (she's well-meaning but ultimately not that great at it and I always wind up cleaning up the mess..) - so it's the £14.00 take-out for 2 (2 starters, 2 mains, 1 side dish, rice, naan, puppadoms, pickle tray) from our local Curry House - Lovely! ;)

Might try that soon, not that I have MSG in the house. Do I want to?

It certainly brings the flavour out to its best.
I have read all about the supposedly negative affects of MSG such as headaches etc, and it doesn't put me off using it sparingly.

parma ham-wrapped chicken breasts, stuffed with cheddar & gruyere and green beans
green pea, bean, & vegetable layer with minted butter
raspberry pannacotta
mug of tea

Tried to get some kind of deal for a tenner thing but all out.
However MnS had chicken & leek pie, broccli and colcannon for a fiver.
Was lush. And under £12 with a nice bottle of red.

Dessert.... Well ;)

Sickening :D

I saw a cool video yesterday on how to make a Carpaccio heart. If only I had someone to make it for :(

He couldn't even manage a (heart shaped) piece of dry toast :(
My valentines dinner consisted of a veggie burger eaten alone on the sofa whilst watching Howards End.

I've decided to to lamb shanks slow roasted with rosemary, thyme and lots of garlic. Going to serve it with a white bean ragu.

Need the vast amounts of roasted garlic to fend off the germs I think I'm carrying :hmm:

:( But why such a sad tea?

cant be bothered to shop & no motivation to cook. Just keep eating the same things every week and am sick of it, but can't be bothered to try anything new.
I do have a few more bits of food in the house tbh but nothing that really goes together. Like chick peas. Chick peas, egg and a parsnip....:hmm: Not good!
