What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Grilled, smoked whitefish sausages (a little on the dry side), champ, steamed carrots, green salad. Store-bought pound cake with raspberry preserves and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

And many thanks for the WB, Fran and Froggie. :)

slightly disappointing dim sim prawn dumpling things with a load of stir fried veg. And about the 10th cup of coffee of the day

pot roast pheasant and partridge in a creamy carrot and tarragon sauce with mash and green beans.
Homemade Ginger cake and custard for pud followed by 75% dark chocolate.
Then more cake
:D

Anyway, roast lamb and something or other. Probably roast veg but no tatties as I'm trying to avoid carbs at the moment. This plan entirely depends on whether the lamb defrosts in time.

Ended up being roast lamb, steamed carrots and savoy cabbage, gravy and half a mahoosive yorkshire pud the boy made from scratch  :D

Red wine and milka with daim for pud :)

Hello Y_I, nice to see you posting again.
I always like to see what interesting things you're having for dinner

Tea tonight will be spicy butternut soup if I get round to making it, toast if I can't be bothered with soup making.

I had chilli last night, with some sneaky kidney beans - a little pain, but not floored (woohoo).

Tonight will be squash and sage risotto if I don't exhaust myself at work, otherwise erm not sure :D

We were going to have beef tomatoes stuffed with lamb mince and rice....but we were too hungover to go shopping yesterday so are going this evening and that would take too much time to cook so it's keema and peas with rice and poppodoms.

Family do at Zizzi's yesterday. I like their pizzas but hadn't tried anything else before. Mussels for starters were tiny and boring. Main I had Pollo Prosciutto - chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto in a wine & butter sauce with Tuscan potatoes & green beans. Not bad, reckon a home cooked version would be better.

Tonight is going to jerk chicken if I remember to buy some chicken.

Urgh - still can't face the roast - too much stuffing/bread over the weekend - so I'm going to have a duck/veg/noodle soup with the stock I made. I have loads of basil to use so might do pesto pasta for the kids, but there's also the par-boiled potatoes ready to roast too - so maybe some garlicky wedge/roasties with something from the freezer for them today...chicken goujons? :hmm: ....and some broccoli......and we can all have the pasta tomorrow.... :hmm:

Pesto potato salad

Can I put broccoli in my risotto? :hmm:
better not let moonsi hear you say that :)

but I think broc would break up too much in a risotto - unless cooked first and just stirred through at the end. of course, the broken up effect could be what you're looking for, in which case - yes, go for it!
