What's for tea tonight? (#8)

cool the soup was lovely and the smell of the spices making the dukkah was fantastic - even pickle loved it!

now just need to get into gear for the next course  need to make my za'atar but the sofa has kidnapped me for a bit

I've pretty much decided not to bother with a chinese now and was thinking of having a southern fried chicken fillet from the freezer win a sandwich with lettuce and mayo, but JUST FOR THAT, I might change my mind again and have a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes instead.

is a 'freezer win sandwich' another way of saying 'freezer lottery sandwich?'....:D

I am having a beef stew thing - trying to decide whether or not to bother with the crusted onion dumplings or not :hmm:

I guess you have to really dont you?!

A stroganoff with wild rice and plenty of veg. Been busy chopping and cooking chillis for pepper sauce, so something comparatively quick to cook and wash up is in order.

nothing *sob* cos we're just back from hols and have nothing in... and the boy stocked up on bread and marmite so isn't hungry so going out is off the cards... boo.

chicken and bacon pie. which i already know tastes disgusting because the kids told me when they ate theirs earlier :( mr feyr cooked it and as he is staying over tonight i cant even bin my portion and eat freezer win sandwhich either :(

but on the plus side i have hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows for pudding :)

Green chile tortilla bake, and loads of mimosas are what's on tap today. Plus last night's Who, which I've been reliably informed from sources here is absolute ass; but hey ho, that's what the mimosas are for.

Oh, and my angel of a roommate, after burning the bacon:mad:, has offered to go get me a proper coffee. Not necessarily a fair trade, but the booze is making me magnanimous.

Last night at my sisters wedding I had grilled halloumi with roast sweet potato, duck breast on potato dauphinoise followed by profiteroles with mars bar sauce which was all lush!

Tonight the Mystery meat bag from the freezer turned out to be lamb (who knew?!)
So we had lamb goulash flavoured with caraway, thyme, bay and paprika with pink fir potatoes from the garden and some sad fridge broccoli.

I've had to do a tesco online shop in order to cater for the boy's latest whim/desire to eat wheat free  so im glad that today's dinner seems to have been a hit with himself

Pasta with sardines in lemon and olive oil and a load of fridge leftovers (beetroot, onion, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms etc) Portion was huge. But it was lunch and dinner in one, so i excuse myself.

how did the outshining the bride thing go? :D
Well, she looked stunning but to be fair she tried to Sabotage my efforts by "forgetting" to get my dress fixed! However I got lots of compliments for looking "blooming" and another bridesmaid asked me where I got my nails (they are my own and I painted them in the taxi on the way to the reg office) so I must have scrubbed up ok!

The best bit of being a enormous humpty front was that I could gorge myself on the delicious food without having to worry about still fitting in my dress! :D

i didnt have to eat my pie because i got all emotional and upset about something so mr feyr made me a fried cheese sandwhich to cheer me up :) which i ate while still sniffling and am now making puppy eyes at mr feyr to try and get another one :)

^Yes.....but then bob would make you add ice cream to it, too :(

I took a hunk of cooked lamb and a pot of lamb stock out of the freezer, so it's shepherds pie for us today....with broccoli and green beans.
